The problem with the motoman break-in method

I bought my shortblock assembled, but I took it apart just in case. They nicked the bearing surface while installing the piston. Yours could be something that simple

Broke in a Subaru I helped build Monday. On a base tune I broke it in my way. After about 20 minutes of doing break in at 23psi I decided to do a pull too see the numbers. 487hp/416tq.
