Alright good,

I wanted to buy it for a summer project, to keep me busy/entertained.

I will by putting it on the Dyno, Doing some Auto X, and Drag racing..

I want to do a side exhaust, and heavy gutting/weight reduction,

and Run Race Gas at the track...


I will need to figure out a Setup for it.

hmmm.....


I definetly wanna beat my old time 12.7 @ 107 but i wanna do it and still have the car last throughout the summer

Hey guys, 1st post. :)

I found this one in a local ad. Heres the description:

"Car is red, nice shiny paint no dents or major scratches car was always garaged and well cared for. Interior is dark grey and in good shape.It is a 5 speed manual transmission. Just got the car from family and i dont really know too much about it, but it was used as a commuter car by my cousin to get back and forth to college. It was regularly serviced and i have a nice stack of receipts in hand. Has new tires, new battery with warranty, new exhaust, spark plugs and wires are new, new water pump, all new belts, timing was just done, new timing belt and tensioner. it runs very well and always starts right up, so it will be a nice trouble free car for the next couple years.
The Extras:
It has an alpine stereo system in it and new speakers all around. It also has Euro taillights which i didnt really care for so i removed them and replaced with stock ones, but i will include them. Ther is also an aftermarket exhaust in the trunk i think it was installed and removed after. I also had a set of 18" x 8"wide ADR specialty wheels also with new rubber i put on the car and they look nice. Thats a total of 8 brand new tires. I'm selling the car for them and the price is set at $3250 firm. No tire kickers please this car is well worth the money. if your interested drop me an email ill send you some pics of the car and we can arrange for you to see the car as it is in the garage at my cousins house."

Mileage is around 130k he says.

Price is stated at 3250 firm. What do you guys think?

i bought a 1990 eagle talon tsi turbo 5-speed, power everything, only 59,000 miles, bran new concept speakers, new concept 12inch sub and concept amp(1000 watt), also come with bran new winters on rims and bran new MSR 17's with new tires, and i only paid $1500.oo

92 Talon TSI AWD.. Black on white... 110,000 miles ... Big16G, MAF-T, and a few other mods... 9k on motor rebuild, 170 across all cyls.... new tires, power everyhthing, interior is imaculate, 2 very minor dings on body... runs strong

$3,000... good deal or not?

Not that it matters... already had it two months and putting more $$ into it... just curious as to your opinions ... :)

2g shift knob with shifter base and tranny cable bushings

Abs works 50% of the time, Ac and cruise control was removed. There is a boost leak, but it is only noticable when you floor it, the
logger shows knock and timing gets pulled sometimes.

Owner wants $3500, what do you think?
 
hi, i joined this site awhile back and have just been lurking around the forums learning about the cars... i found a 98 gst 5spd on auto trader for 2500. it says that they will sell it for 2500 or fix it(needs a new bell housing) and sell it for 4200, i went and looked at it tonight and it seemed to be in good condition. Going to have to go tomorrow when its light outside and take a look at it again. With a broken bell housing what other problems could arise?
 
hey lets see some pictures of this thing im also in the illinois area and have a buddy moving up from florida in the next 2 weeks and this sounds like something hed be interested in... i looked in ## profile... didnt see any
 
1991 Eclipse GSX. The car is red with a black cap Mint condition owned by a ASE cert. mech. He is the original owner and purchased it with every option under the sun at the time. It has the gray leather interior. It has never been driven in the winter and always been garage keep. One hundred percent original unmodded, Everything works. Had custom floor matts made for it. Comes with car cover. He did have a afermarket alarm put in, he said it was a good one? The tires are the originals Goodyear GT+4's and still like new. Has just under 10,000 miles, and is a 5 speed He is ready to sell it after all these years and still loves the car, but he said it is time to down size. Another part to the question is if I did buy this car would it be worth my while to keep it stock and baby it since their are not to many GSX's in this condition and stock that I know of. Please let me know. He will not budge on the price for the Car.
 
Dude I would seriously want to get that car for the same reasons. And I would treat it the same way. Well maybe not the same. I would probably beat on it from time to time, but I would still garage it and keep the miles down. If you can justify spending the money on it I say go for it. But $10,000 is a lot of money to some people. I wouldnt do it because I cant afford it.
 
Sounds like an amazing car, but $10,000 is too much for a 1g. See how much he'll come down.
 
I personally would never pay that much. I buy cars to drive them the way I want and not feel like I need to baby them.
 
personally, if i had an extra $10k laying around (maybe in another life so it doesnt pertain to this) i would buy that car just to take out on the occasional weekend, leave it stock and that would be it, to have 10k original miles is something that you will never see again in the 1g dsm world. i would say go for it, but buy a beater for an everyday car, dont drive that everyday
 
its absolutely useless to buy a car and not drive it. Were all dsm fans here but it aint a museum piece and im sure they will never be. Take that 10 grand and buy a 1g you can drive for a few grand and go balls out with the money you saved
 
First, a mod is probably gonna throw this in the "Official how much is this DSM worth thread".

Second, there's no way the car is worth anywhere near 10g. You can buy a rolling shell in good condition for a couple grand, and import a brand new crate motor for a couple grand, and still be better off.
 
kbb and nada both say its worth just under $3200 but to a dsm'er its worth more, it is something you like, you are willing to pay more
