Went to check this one out today. Called the guy earlier today around noon and told him I was heading that way this afternoon. Told him I'd BE THERE AROUND 4. He says okay see ya then. Roll up around 4:15 and walk into the office. The secretary/his wife asks us how she can help me. I told her I'm here to take a look at the Talon they have. She grabs the keys and says have at it. So we walk out to it. Start it up and do a quick walk around. No smoke on start up. Starts smooth. Idles smooth. Doesn't smoke during idle. Idle around 1100. Shut it down and look around under the hood. Genuine Greddy BOV. Strut tower bar. Hard UICP. Engine bay looks pretty clean for 150k miles. So we go back in and ask if we could borrow a wrench and a phillips screw driver to pop the intake pipe off to check the turbo and take the timing cover off to check the belt. She says their mechanic ran to grab a brake line and he'll be back soon. Okay. We wait for 15 minutes then he shows up. Come outside and says "I don't loan my tools out to anyone." Okay. I asked for ####ing 10mm wrench and a phillips. So I ask him if he can just come pop those off quick so we can check it out. "No I'm really busy today. You can ask the owner about it when he comes back. He knows more about it." Fine #### you dude. So I walk back into the office and ask the secretary when he'll be back. Oh 15 or so minutes (at 5). Leave my number and tell her to have him call me when he's back. Run some more errands and don't get a call back. Understandable something may have come up during business hours. Still give me a call dude. So overall I'm pissed about this situation. Might call him back tomorrow and give him a few words about how kind his mechanic was to me, then maybe go back to take a look at it later this week. Don't wanna let this deal slip away from me. Overall the interior is super super SUPER clean. Has a dash pad so the dash was in amazing condition. All the black plastics still had an almost new finish on them. Driver's bolster was a bit worn, but what else can be expected for the age and miles. The paint didn't have any fade on top except a little clear peel on the wing. And some strut rust on both sides. No holes but its started. All easy fixes. Was gonna ask about trading my hatch. Or hopefully I can get it sold for my asking price and have a bit of cash left over.So sometimes I miss my DSM like hell and found this one in the local paper. Thinking about offering my EF up for trade on it. If they won't take a straight up trade I don't think I'll wait around for it and just keep my hatch.

Anyone else find this a bit redundant?clutchnet.com.

WOW! why are you guys are so quick to sell your DSMs? if they're overloaded with problems, modified, or neglected, it should come as absolutley no surprise that nobody wants to buy it or will really cheap out on the asking price. not only that, but 1G's and 2G's are pretty rare nowadays, especially stock versions. i can't even find any in junkyards!
at least for me, im really surprised there are so many DSMs for sale in other states. in my area, im one of the only 2G eclipse owners that i know of. there are tons of 3G's and 4G's, though.
even though im a N/T guy, i would never sell mine. i always wanted one since i first saw the commercial in 1995. ive had mine since '08 and i love it!
New ARP studs and SCE ICS Titan headgasket when the head was rebuilt. Complete silicone hose kit from IE done as well, along with Torque Solutions carrier bearing bushings. Spec 6 puck clutch and Fidanza flywheel was rebuilt ~5k miles ago along with fresh Castrol trans fluid and a new battery. New starter and OEM PCV valve as of last week.
That interior is MINT.I'll be getting rid of this sometime this year either selling it complete or parting it out depending on how much it goes for.
1993 Eagle Talon TSI with 174k miles and no rust, ~35k on the 6 bolt shortblock since getting 2G pistons/1G rods, BSEK, and 3G Lifters. ~3k miles since head rebuild/surfacing, complete timing belt(gates racing belt) and water pump service, new front seal, cam seals. Smokes a small amount at idle, I think the machine shop messed up while installing one of the valve seals.New ARP studs and SCE ICS Titan headgasket when the head was rebuilt. It was converted to a non cruise cable but I bought everything needed to install it. A/C is there, just needs new seals, oil in the compressor, and then have it put in a deep vacuum and recharged.
On the outside the car is fantastic for its age, original paint with the only issue being the clearcoat on the wing is coming off. The rest has small dents here and there and minor rock chips. The front bumper came off on one side while driving and the tire rubbed the corner off of it unfortunately.

I dont know how people could pay that much for a car that's 15 years old

I wouldn't pay 7k for that car. Its really not really modded enough to be worth 7k. Still has stock bottom end and stock transmission, so I wouldn't pay that much for a modded car without upgraded internals and tranny.
Looks like it has a 6 bolt in it. With that being said, I would assume that its been rebuilt. With only 333hp "upgraded internals" is a bit of an overkill.
Thanks guys I didnt think of it like that. So if he doesnt have a built tranny, built motor, no heads and cams, its not worth the 7 grand hes asking? I will ask those questions, aee if he has reciepts for the work. Is there any other questions that I should ask that you guys could think of?
