im one frugal #### when it comes to my money so i would use the money in this order:

1. bills
2. food
3. car
4. save

do you have a decent phone that works fine right now? if you do, you dont need that.

That phone is sweet. I have the w600i. With the popularity of the RAZR just by all the commercials and celebrities, the w600i was the sleeper phone. Those who gave Sony/Ericsson a chance (since their past phones sucked), can see how much improvement their current phones are.

I really hate Sony, but their cell phones have really improved, and it was great that they weren't popular so they don't do the usual sony tactics and overprice it. Here is hoping that Motorola has the general census buying their phones to keep the new Sony phones low priced.
Yeah I used to have the w600i too until it got stolen. I loved that phone, it had everything a phone could have. The w850 has everything the 600 had and more.

As for the car, I was thinking i could get a 2.5" catback exhaust, boost gauge, and mbc for that money.

So hard to choose.

I would never spend that much on a phone. Find a deal and get it cheap or free. I just picked up a new LG chocolate for 49.99 and I feel like a schmuck sometimes for not getting it for free. Cell phone companies will give the world away, the phone isn't where they make their money...food for thought!

Be very careful with these kits. You get what you pay for. The cores are cheaply manufactured, prone to cracking, heavy, fins bend easily, and have major fitment problems.

I've had an XS Power eBay core on my car for well over a year now. I daily drive my car year round through snow, salt, etc...and run 30psi daily on pump gas with my 50-trim. As far as the kit goes, I'll save you from reading the whole thread by saying the only complaint is you have to get rid of factory foglights and the kits are missing a $2 T-bolt clamp.

The only problem with that is is that no company cells that phone yet. I don't think it's even out in the US yet. But you do bring up a good point.

Dude you will love the exhaust forever. The phone will be cool for about a month or two then it will be just a phone. The exhaust will give you power gain plus it just sounds so good.

Well of course any FMIC core will be better than the stock SMIC. The BIG question is, how does the performance of the XS power core stack up against the likes of the Buschur, Greddy, and AMS cores?

Are you a 15 year old girl who has to impress all her cool friends with her phone? No? Then get the exhaust.

ROFL at times I can be. On a more serious note, what's an estimated power gain from a 2.5 catback?

Well, I just got back from my local muffler shop and they said they would make a 2.5" catback for $180 (not including muffler). They said for a 3" it would be $270. I may just go with the 2.5" and buy the muffler for cheap on ebay. I'll have enough money left over for a boost gauge and mbc.

Also I found this on ebay.

Verizon sells the chocolate in the US, in your area even.
Cingular sells the Ericsson 810. Don't know what's different between that and the 850 you're looking for.

That's the age old question isn't it?

Get the MODS!!!!!!!! Screw the phone.

Consider this:

Boost Gauge
MBC
Cold Air Intake

When I put on my cold air intake (injen) and upper and lower inner cooler pipe I noticed a HUGE gain.

I have a 98 talon stock fuel system and stock turbo. i have a MBC running 14 psi. I am try to follow the upgrade path as described on this website. my next step is fuel pump and a turbo. I plan on ordering them soon and i would like some input on whether or not i should run a 190lph or a 255lph. I plan on running evo 3 16g. Eventually i would like to run 24 psi on 93 octane. In order to run 24 psi will 190lph walbro do the job? I am trying to spend as little money as possible and i would like to avoid putting an AFPR on it.

I understand i will need bigger injectors (i am thinking 550's will do it.) and possibly DSM link.

What do you think a 190 or 255? :talon:

It's your birthday... treat yourself to some hookers and blow

Just kidding... well kinda...Get whatever you think will last longer as an investment.

Check it out... I have $3,000 to put into my baby... maybe more because I just got a new job and I'm making $1,500 more a month and nothing to spend it on right now :p What do I spend it on???

I've been looking around so I have a list of stuff I would like to buy... Please check out my current mods and let me know what you would do...

Here is the list of stuff I've been thinking of buying... I will probably end up getting all this stuff by the end of the year ( hopefully :thumb: but we'll see... at least eventually I'll get it all )

-Quaife Limited Slip Differentials ( Front differential and Center Differential )
-Rotora Big Brake Upgrade
-Sparco Milano Racing Seats ( leather... cheapest price I've seen are about $1,200 each )
-Blueprint and Balanced engine, .20 overbore, JE pistons... the works... stronger, able to handle more without fear of blowing it up....
-Road Race Engineering's tight ass suspention JIC FLT-A2 coilovers... straight custom

This list can actually go on forever but these are the main things I've been thinking of lately... I know I will have a little money left over depending on what I get... but I can always put the rest into one of the other things... I also know I can get a bigger turbo and make my eclipse the fastest eclipse in the world.. blah blah.... I'm all about that.. but I first believe you can't have power without control... I'm not looking to go fast as soon as possible... I just paid my car off in October last year and plan to have it for a LONG time ;) and I've done the whole power thing... I don't like it when things break... LOL... anyway.. let me know what you think.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!

Well i am not going to say what you should do but i can tell you what i am doing.

I bought a second bare block to start building along with a back up transmission. I am doing this so that i can through in my stock motor(+ARP) into the car the same day if anything happens along with being able to drive it while i am building with almost 0 down time. I just really like to have the spares laying around just incase.

Edit: Also because i have the car running while i am putting the motor/trans together i am in less of a hurry to get that setup done and in now. Which for me means i am not going cheaper in certain areas just to get it done. My dad always told me build it once and be done with it. With the exception of the rods i picked up the new setup has the best pieces i could find.

Thank you for moving my post Ludachris, I wasn't sure where to post it. I was told that my post was pretty much not allowed anywhere after I posted it?

I think I'm gonna get Stoptech's brakes first... too bad I cant find a brake upgrade for all four wheels... Then I'm gonna get suspension, then diffs...

Tony90TSI..... that's an awsome idea, I don't need to drive my car right now, I have a BS truck to drive around, but by keeping my car drivable, it will keep me from spending money on cheap and available parts instead of waiting for good parts... That's what I'm gonna do for my engine... Thanks!!

Find Todd at TCE (he is a supporting vendor of this site and posts often). He can get you your front kit at a great price and he has 12", 13" and bigger rear brake kits on the shelf. He is the go to man for brakes. By buying from a supporting vendor you further support this site being here for you to post. Other then that, Todd is the man.

Build the motor first. The rest are essentially bolt ons. It should be perfect timing if you get on it, since you'll only have it down over the winter. So when summer comes, you can enjoy the car.
