Do a brand new engine. Thats what I did.

Here's what I did, and it worked for me:

Internals:
6 bolt block
Weisco forged pistons
Brian Crower Connecting Rods
BC 272 cams

Fuel System:
AEM High Flow Fuel Rail
780cc Injectors
Whalboro 255lph fuel pump

Turbo:
I did the PTE SCM 6152, but you have a larger budget then I did.

So if I were you I would do the Garrett GT35
Tial 44mm External WG
Tubular Header

Yea, I know that the exact translation for Über is "Over". But none the less, thanks for pointing that out.

Also, I apologize for forgetting to include in my post that I'm currently using DSMLink, and am about to have my car tuned by John Reed, who is one of few AEM Master Tuners.
 
I run the HAHN Super16 on my car. I like the turbo as it spools a touch later than most 16Gs and is pretty linear, not just a "bang" when it comes on. Plus with me being FWD those characteristics are a bonus. However, if I was AWD I would look at another turbo, but that's just me.
 
I am looking to hit 12's with my 92 TSi this year. So far I have a K&N filter, hacked air can, Walbro 255 pump, Apexi downpipe to a 3'' catback, a joe P mbc set on 13 psi. I will have a budget of 900 dollars to spend on it this spring.

All of my maintenace is finished and my boost leak and compression test came back very good. 175 across the board.

Just looking to hit high 12's that's all. Thanks for the help.:thumb: :talon:
 
You may want to save some of that dough for gas. ;) No telling how high the prices will be in the summer.




Slicks or street radial tires would also be something to consider, if you're just looking for quicker 1320 times.

Evo316g, 660cc injectors, Somthing to tune with, Safc or somthing like that. Oh and an afpr, if your running a 255 I should hope you already have one.

Guys, he said 900 bucks, not $1200-1500.

Ok e316g $300-$350 Used I got my big 16g for $160, 660cc - $200-$250 That leaves you with $350-$400 for some sort of safc. This is very feasable given the great resource we have in the classified section. And even after that he might still have some $ left for gas.
 
First thing you need to do is figure out if you will EVER want to run faster then high 12's. The best thing to do is look at what parts other 1g's have that are running the # you want to run. Write a list of everything they have and look up the parts and study them. Once you do that find prices for those parts. The main parts you need to look at are turbos and tunning but it all comes back to if you just want to run high 12's forever or just this summer.
For only high 12's - used SAFC 2, ported evo3 16g, and find some used 550 injectors, port your exhause mani. (and try to take it easy on your clutch)

Anything faster then high 12's - VERY hard to do on $900
 
Thanks for the input guys I really respect what this community has to say/offer. For my car the only goal I have for it is to run 12's. I don't have a need for anything faster. I'm 29 and about ready to start a family.

I just want a nice 12 second street/strip car. Again thanks for the input.:thumb:
 
ok. the wife cut the budget to $5000. im having i complete service done. changinge complete timing belt. also underdrive pulleys and belts. that should get the foundation down and exspose any problems. will get back to this on sat. until then keep the info rolling. i,ll have details on compression and leak down. maybe before i start i'll take it to the dyno.
 
By looking at your profile I would say a fuel pump, boost controller, maybe a 14b, and logger. I would do all this before the throttle body swap. And wire up the safc.
 
I second that. Nice to be able to supply that fuel and controlling it, before blowing up a tempremental DSM engine.
 
have to agree with 92awd and Drated, fuel pump, injectors, wire the safc, mbc, and def a logger setup
 
Aftermarket fuel rails are pretty much pointless unless you have a race car that is going to be running single digits. The things I listed would be a much better investment. A logger is mandatory to get it running right. Afuel pump is mandatory to have any kind of fun with the boost and is required before injectors. And the boost cotroller obviously will allow you to run more boost. And the 14b will go way further then your stock turbo. And these can be had for about your $500 probably even less.
