Hard air intake pipe(home depot, or eBAY)
Boost guage (aftermarket since the stock one is very inaccurate)
MBC($$$ depends on where you get it from)
NGK BPR7es plugs>>>$2.00 each (roughly)
eBAY turbo-back exhaust or custom weld one (both would be cheap)
If you dont have emmisions do a cat-delete
Port the 14B>>>free
A nice free mod is to clean your IC>>> http://www.vfaq.com/mods/wayback/BradBauer/misc/cooler.html
Also you can check this out>>> http://www.dsmtuners.com/sub.php?page=2gtstage1power
EDIT: Also if you have any cash left over from what I recommended, I would custom weld Hard IC piping to replace those crappy rubber pieces.
EDITed again because Im retarded, and running on no sleep

I have an a/t therefore its the smaller 13 turbo

Ok since you have the smaller 13g TD04, then I would say save up a bit more, and get a 14B...if you want to up the boost past 12psi though you will have to upgrade the a/t 390cc injectors to at least 450s, but I would recommend 550s, and get a way of tunning such as a S-AFC.

And yes, you can port with a dremel, although its nice if you have a compressor and can do it with die grinder or something, and just polish it with the dremel..

It took me two hours of careful porting with a pretty powerful electric die grinder to get a good port job of my 14b. I don't believe a dremel can do anything serious.

Not bad, 575$ for the kit. But if you add FIC 650 that's 60 additional dollars. Then the 255 is 5 extra bucks..
So 640$ for your fuel setup..
Here's how I'd break it down otherwise..
Fuel injectors 650, 250$
255 Walboro, 90$
SAFC, 250$
590$
Even if i'm off 50$ somehow it'd stil would be the same price.. Guess it isnt that great of a deal. It's up to you man, I'm just giving you food for thought. Don't get this just because you think it's a really great deal.. I still suggest my previous posts.
FIC 650, 250$
255 or 190 Walboro, 90$
Keydriver chip, 90$
430$
For running the 255, where the heck is the FPR?! :nono:

If you can afford it, go with the DSMlink as it is far better to tune with. Once you get that, get a set of 950s, and add that to the above listed parts.

This combo has been run deep into the 11s and has been proven to be a great daily driven setup, that is reliable.

Hi,

I'm trying to put together a good dependable daily driver 2g. Not looking for an all out beast, but something around 330 hp. Which cams besides the expensive hks will work with this setup? Also will this work or am i missing something?

My current mods are:

Autometer boost gauge
Injen style intake
60mm bored throttle body
3 Inch xtune catback and downpipe
K&N FIPK
Fresh tuneup with NGK bpr6es and matching NGK wires

Next mods:

evo 8 560cc injectors
evo 8 fuel pump with rewire
evo 3 16g
cams????????????????????
some sort of tuning device??????????????????????
boost controller????????????????????

I would think the Stock Cams would be fine for that setup. I have a 16G and I am using the Hallman Pro RX Manual Boost Controller I like it much better than the Bleed types. I also am using an Apexi S-AFC II for fuel management. I think if you're keeping it around the 350hp mark like I am currently you would be fine with these things. But when you do go to get the 16G Make sure you port the 02 Housing, the Turbo Inlet and get a 34mm flapper door put on that thing or it will creep like a son of a bi***. I had Forced Performance do mine and it works great. :thumb:

If your only going for 330hp, a 16g and stock cams will be perfect for you. If you want a set of cams for a higher power goal, take a look at the DKS cams by FFWDConnection. They make exact copies of the HKS 264/272 and 272/272 cams as well as other grinds for different power goals. They sell for $350 for the pair, cheapest I've seen yet.

Thanks i may have to give Forced Performance a call. I'm in the Hampton Roads area and haven't found a shop around here yet.

Dependable & DSM are two words that don't belong in the same sentence! ROFL Just joking! Just make sure to do alot of basic maintenance (replace all hoses, belts (timing), oil, coolant, etc.) and make sure that you are good at diagnosing electrical problems. Also, a wideband is a MUST for tuning unless you like blowing up engines.

A DSM can be very reliable at any power level, milage, year what ever, just so long as you do preventative maintenance religiously. I would look at either the DKSs like Matt (blackGSX2g) said or Comp cams, also Web cams are nicely priced. A S-AFC II, logger, and wide band will be perfect for tuning, and as far as MBC's Joe P, Hallman, those are some nice ones, but they are expensive.

Get one of those EBAY FMIC kits. You can pick one up for around 200 bucks, it'll help you keep from having knock problems, so you can crank up the boost!

Be very careful with these kits. You get what you pay for. The cores are cheaply manufactured, prone to cracking, heavy, fins bend easily, and have major fitment problems.

Clearly, this tuner has not seen the bazillion page thread about how awesome the xs power fmic kit is.

No I haven't, but could you post a link to it? There has been a feuding debate on that core's performance over on the evolutionm.net forums. I'll try searching for it! Thanks!

Well I just turned 20 yesterday and so far have gotten $300 for my bday. My question is, would you rather buy a mod for the car (specify which mod), or this new cell phone:
Sony Ericsson W850, this phone has almost everything in terms of features:

I'm not sure whether I wanna buy something to mod the car, or this cell phone. Granted I'll have to spend an additional $160 to buy the phone but I really want it.

Give me some ideas guys. My car only has an intake/air filter in terms of mods. I don't know what I should get for $300 when i'm practically stock.

You can get a 3" turbo back exhaust at the local muffler shop under 300. Re-wire your fuel pump and get a MBC.

I was thinking exhaust but I'm not positive yet. I do know a muffler shop that can build a custom one for about that price though. I'm just not sure I wanna spend $300 on something that's probably gonna give me barely any gain in power. Any other ideas/opinions?

you gota start with the basics first, intake and exhaust. They are multipliers. you may not nitice a huge difference at first but the more you mod, the more they make a difference

That phone is sweet. I have the w600i. With the popularity of the RAZR just by all the commercials and celebrities, the w600i was the sleeper phone. Those who gave Sony/Ericsson a chance (since their past phones sucked), can see how much improvement their current phones are.

I really hate Sony, but their cell phones have really improved, and it was great that they weren't popular so they don't do the usual sony tactics and overprice it. Here is hoping that Motorola has the general census buying their phones to keep the new Sony phones low priced.
