Yeah, and when did you buddy get his manifold? Because, they've revised there original design and added supports to all the flanges, and use thicker steal. They are not as prone to cracking. Mine hasnt cracked in a couple thousand miles, and I know pleanty of people who are running them, no problem.

And I'm not sure about slimline for the A/C.. The EVO may be a little too large for the stock A/C fan. Have to do some reasearch. But I've heard of cheap slimlines melting, and not flowing as well as a stock.

And where can you get a set of 660 injectors, 190fuel pump, and an SAFC for 500?
If you want it all now and dont have the extra cash for a dsmlink, then I'd recommend getting a Keydriver chip for 100, and waiting til you have enough money for DSMLink. You'll want it sooner or later trust me.

Not bad, 575$ for the kit. But if you add FIC 650 that's 60 additional dollars. Then the 255 is 5 extra bucks..
So 640$ for your fuel setup..
Here's how I'd break it down otherwise..
Fuel injectors 650, 250$
255 Walboro, 90$
SAFC, 250$
590$
Even if i'm off 50$ somehow it'd stil would be the same price.. Guess it isnt that great of a deal. It's up to you man, I'm just giving you food for thought. Don't get this just because you think it's a really great deal.. I still suggest my previous posts.
FIC 650, 250$
255 or 190 Walboro, 90$
Keydriver chip, 90$
430$

get the real deal exhuast manifold. no ebay garbage. my buddy had the ebay pacesetter manifold and it cracked within 400 miles.

yes its true i run the 2g mani now with a little bit of port work and i accually like it alot better then the pacesetter manifold i was using before, garbage:beatentodeath: they tried to tell me :tease: now i just hate the ebay junk:barf: except the intercooler which is working great :thumb: for now

Pacesetter is an actual company that sells their products worldwide thru numerous vendors, it just happens to be people buy them from " ebay" so they automatically assume its an ebay only item. Then when the products fails, the ebay bashing occurs.
Compression also knows this im just busting his chops, howdy buddy

Thank you.. I decided not to hyjack this thread, to continue another debate over these products or ebay.. Some people are just so stuborn. :shhh: I'm pretty sure the OP isn't even reading this anymore, haha.

unless he doesnt have an eprom , then a keydiver stage 3 chip, socket job, and the ecu would be around 400$

Meh, 350 maybe. I assumed he had an eprom. And if he went junkyard digging he could find an eprom for under 100..
Go ahead and get the SAFC.. If I were you I'd still get the eprom and keydriver, i'm sure you'll want it in the future.

In all fairness compression, your manifold that cracked was one of the older models with no support welded to the flanges, and that is where it cracked..

I have $1,200 to spend and i wanted some suggestions from everyone what i should buy with it. here is my mod list
Evo 3 16g turbo
SAFC 2
750cc injectors
dejon tool 3" intake
GM MAF and Translator
Huge 24x12x3 intercooler
greddy Type RS BOV
Ported 2G Manifold
2G throtlebody elbow
Turbosmart Boost Controller
Walboro 255 fuel pump
Aeromotive AFPR
Test Pipe & 3in Thermal Cat-Back
Built engine

Also i kinda want to get into low 12's. Thanks for your suggestions:thumb:

Since I'm a DSMLink "whore" and I see it on your wish list.....

You will wonder why you haven't purchased it already. Functionality, ease of use, excellent logger, ability to wire in a WB O2 and a true MAP sensor, no "black box" controller, etc, etc.

Take the change left over and have a nice evening with the GF, wife, or both, whichever the case may be.

$1000 will get you DSMLink (Link-600, ECU-$250, laptop off e-bay-$100). What did RRE charge you? Do you want to go back and spend the same on a re-tune after upgrades?

It probably won't help in the short term any as I imagine they did a good job on your tune. However, it will give you the ability to tune for yourself and not pay someone to do it for you. Plus there are a lot of cool features with DSMLink (whoring again).

I personally have never used anything else to tune my DSM with, but can't imagine anything being easier, and the logging capabilities are fantastic.

Yea, DSMLINK is super nice... Otherwise get some nice drag radials... That way at the track you can get to 12's easier...

This is what I suggest:
1) Stage 3 chip from www.dsmchips.com with A/F ratio set to what you want to run.
2) PTE SCM Dual Ball bearing 50trim turbo.
3) Ditch the SAFC and MAFT for a MAFT Gen II.
4) A better clutch.
5) You have an AWD, ditch the Turbosmart Boost controller and get a Hallman for JoeP Manual Boost controller.

DSMLink like Jim said (or go with the a custom A/F and timing chip from Jeff, like Dee said) upgrade you clutch, and you should be in the 12s with some seat time. I would definately say get the Link because with a S-AFC and 750s you wont get as persice of a tune, Im not knocking RRE or anything, just saying they could tune it in to pin point accuracy with Link and get it in a good general area with S-AFC. By the way how is RRE? Once Im out of college(next winter) Im thinking about making a trek over to SoCal to get a set of JIC coil-overs anf have John set them up, and tweak with them till they are perfect.

there very good. They definetly know what thier talking about. When you see how small their shop is you like OMG thats it, but it makes up for how much they know about DSM's. They also have very good prices on labor and what not

It had a support from flange to flange, it just cracked around the #1 runner where it went into the collector, if it were a stress crack from lack of support it would have been on the collector itself most likely.

It's really not cool to hyjack this thread, but you seem persistent.
You told me it had no supports welded onto it.
It's all speculation why it cracked, it doesn't matter.
Why? Because I've seen 500 dollar intake and exhaust manifolds crack all day long.
Shit happens. Sorry.

You are not going to get anywhere close to getting everything on that list with a $1200 budget. If you want to know what to buy, then start with the Upgrade path in the Tech Guide.

Yes, cams make power. ACT 2600 and ACT flywheel is a good combo, most shops charge $300-$400+ to install them.
