So I took the drag car out Saturday to Woodburn Dragstrip to participate in the Cobb Tuning heads up class. I was mostly there to just see how the car was gonna do with our all brand new trans from Metro Auto trans here in Vancouver and new 300m T case from Dog Box Racing and DSS drive shaft. Also another new install is the Spark Tech Pro 14 CDI. All passes were at 41 psi and no tuning changes all day. I do however use a dry 50 shot of n2o for spool up on the converter but it shuts off before I even launch the car. The n2o is not used ever after launching or during the pass. Just a few more tweaks and mods she will be ready for full power. I have some go pro vids but wont have them up for a couple of days.

Needless to say I went home with a nice fat check for the win in the pro modified class.

Goddamn Jeff! Lucas told me about the passes yesterday at the dyno day! Congrats for sure! Those are some badass 60's! I see some 1.2s in your very near future. :rocks:

My drag car is a 1g auto awd. It does however have a 2g auto awd trans swap. The pic in my avatar is of the engine bay.

Thanks Mike it was truly a pretty awesome day

Nice work and killer times!!!

Can't wait to see this car in person.:thumb:

You should bring it over to Spokane this year:pray:

We should have two 9 second auto DSM's from the Spokane CDA area this year.

No it just has the 9.5in billet converter option for better stall options.

If you have to use N20 to spool a big turbo anyway, why go to the extra trouble of using the 2g trans for the billet 9.5 ? Wouldn't a stock converter be more efficient with a N20 shot than a higher stalling converter ? I'm not being critical, just trying to learn by asking...
Congrats on the times :hellyeah:

Don't sweat the questions, This is why we are here. As far as the Nitrous is concerned I only spray a 50 dry shot to push through the 2900 rpm hump. A stock converter that has been restalled may be only good to stall up to around 4500. Even though the stock converter is way more efficient, You will need a crap load of n2o to get it out of the hole, say around 150-200 shot. Yes this works for most everyone with big to bigger sized turbos, but at a huge price. Constant bottle filling, center diffs thrown through the case, rear ends hitting the ground and so on. On my combo I can foot break my car to 6500 rpm and hit full boost by 6700 or so and leave with out all the severe drive train shock. We have been working very close with Precision Industries on finding the perfect stall for my car. Right now it is way too easy to hold it back at the tree at 6500 and 25 psi. I have 2 full 2g trannies and converters that I'm doing the testing with so there is no real down time between swaps. I'm sending my back up converter back now for a bit tighter restall. I'm down about 120 whp from before when I made 820 whp with the old 4202r. These passes were at only 700 whp.

My current engine combo is 11:1 alumn rod, Garrett GTX-R 4202 at 41 psi and straight E 98. The car weighs right close to 2575 lbs with out me.

This is not Lucas posting, It's Jeff from English Racing
