So i been dealling with timing the whole nine yards but it seems like nobody of the people i know are to sure on the answer or what it could be set to so im hear seeking help on if the pin on then tensioner should be able to slide back and forth and that how you know if the belt has enough tension. Does it matter which way you turn the tensioner pulley it self clock wise or counter clockwise? And after you turn the motor bout 6-7 times over should you have resistance to the pin where it can still slide in or out is should it slide out with no problems?. (Can take video and pictures if need too to show what im dealing with)

Lots of controversy with this one. The book says take a measurement. Many of us, including me, use the pin method. It should slide after tension and yes after rotating. Yes it matters which way you turn the pulley depending on what motor you have. What do you have?. 1g 2g? 6 bolt 7 bolt?

6 bolt or 2g 7 bolt? The tensioner pulley gets turned different direction depending.

I like to be able to slide the grenade pin in/out after setting tension. Then 6 full rotations, wait 15 mins, and slide the grenade pin in/out.

Sometimes with cams and springs the latter can be more difficult to achieve.

It 2g 4g63t 7 bolt and I have turned it both ways for not getting a clear answer but also aint gonna try to do it by myself till i get more of a clear answer.

2g 7 bolt should be turnt counterclockwise. 38 ft lbs on tensioner pulley bolt.

The pin should be able to removed and reinstalled with little to no effort.

I personally don’t measure the distance it protrudes anymore. IIRC if you rotate the pulley the wrong direction it interferes with something anyways.
