Temperature Gauge Range

Does anybody know the range of the stock 1g temp gauge? When the need is straight up in the middle, what is the temperature equivalent? What is the temperature at the "within operating temperature" tick marks, there's two on on the left and the right before the red. Finally, what is the temperature at the red mark?

Going by what my aftermarket guage says along with my stock guage, half way (straight up and down) is about 185* or very close to that. The low mark, I believe is around 120-130* range or so if I remember correctly. I'm not sure of the high mark as I have never been there and don't plan on doing so anytime soon. If I were to guess though, I would say 230*+

On my 2G when the needle is in the middle of the stock gauge cluster I'll see temps anywhere from 185-195 on my aftermarket gauge during hwy cruising and scooting around town. Not sure what the the temp would be at the red mark...I've never seen it go pass the middle mark. Would assume 1G temps may be close or same as 2G?

From my experience, the the stock 1G temp gauges read much "lower" than the actual reported ECU coolant temps and often display delayed values. For example, on my 1G, a perfectly vertical needle corresponds to ~220*-228* temps

I make sure it stays near the left edge of the little water wiggles of the temp sign. I would hate to see what my actual temps are when the needle is near the red zone. Granted, I've had cooling issues before and my sensors may be off.

Like 1466, a needle slightly left of the symbol is anywhere between 180-200*, and slightly to the right is ~230*.
