Temperature Gauge

My temperature gauge never goes above halfway.
I have replaced all of the sensors and I have no leaks.
I have even tried unplugging the fan and letting the heat get high but I still won't read above half way. I would certainly like to know how hot the engine is too since at the moment it is the only diagnostic gauge I have because it is the only stock one. (2gb N/T)

So buy a logger. Maybe you just never get that hot.

any way you can get a scan tool that has live data? cross reference it with your gauge to rule out if your gauge is working properly

True, but wouldn't running it for almost 4 minutes without the fans plugged in run up the heat a bit?
I tried that to see if I could get the heat up and it did the same thing it always does. That is what is throwing me off.

Halfway on my gauge is like 235* so needless to say i never get there either.

the stock gauge only sees a narrow range of temps so until its way overheated the gauge isn't going to move past halfway. Buy an aftermarket gauge and you will see that most cars sit around 170-190 depending on your thermostat.

Alright so it is the gauges insensitivity? (I sound like a wife now).
And not something going bad?

Most likely it is insensitivity yes!!!! I can run my GSX without the fans running for an easy 30 minutes on the highway before I see much of a gain in temp. If you dont have any problems with it getting up to normal running temp then you should be okay. You can always get a diagnostic tool and double check just to sooth things over.

Well how long does it take you guys to warm up your cars on a cold morning?

I have the same problem but mine barely goes above a quarter of the way. I logged it and my coolant temp was only running about 160 degrees. Im thinking a coolant flush and see if that helps.
