I cannot get the TB to stop leaking. Just put 2 new gaskets on. It is a 6 bolt with a 2g TB. The gasket that mates to the intake is the one leaking. I even tried doubling up on gaskets there. On acceleration and deceleration , it is whistling. Not sure if thats from boost escaping or not. Do i need to just get a 1g TB? Or maybe use a thin coating of RTV?

You sure that it isn't coming from the shaft seals? Have you actually done a boost leak test and felt the air coming out, or are you just assuming that it is leaking?

Ive done the test, thats how i found it. All i know is i reach to the bottom of the tb on the intake side and i can feel the air.

If it is leaking out there than you have a warped flange, or a badly gouged surface. Those are real easy to seal. Are you using paper or metal gaskets?

Paper gasket. Leaking from biss screw also.

I found the screw and o-ring. Anyone know where to get the "good" gaskets?

The problem likely isn't the gasket. It is just a paper gasket. If both surfaces are flat it will seal. Check the flange on the tb elbow for flatness.

Whos not listening?

I have no experience with these car or a leaking throttle body. I'm not sure if its the gasket or shaft seals. All i know is its leaking somewhere on the intake side near the bottom. Thats just feeling the air with my hand.

I am trying to get a car running good that someone else put together and obviously didnt finish it or know what they were doing

^ bryan was asking a few simple ? And you seemed to just ignore it that's all. He's asked like 3-4 times if you checked the flanges out for flatness! Wasn't being a dick was just pointing it out that's all. I would take all his advise you can get bro, he's got a lot of info that can help you, hence him being a wiseman! If you want to pin point the leak try spraying soapy water around the leak while you do a boost leak test and watch where the air bubbles come from. The TB might not be rebuildable if the bottom is all messed up or warped which would be crazy. Do one more blt and spray the soapy water and I'm sure you will pin point the leak!

I will check it all this morning. Didn't mean to ignore anyone

Did a BLT again. Manually moved the throttle and it stopped leaking as bad. I read that if this happens, its the shaft seals. Can i just replace those and the biss screw?

Yes you can replace the shaft seals. It isn't that hard, but might be troubling for some. Getting the screws out of the throttle plate is the hardest part. Make sure to mark the plate so that you know which way it goes back in.

Just purchased the whole rebuild kit from snowborder714. Ill do the whole thing so i have no worries. Thank you for taking the time to help out.

And don't forget to re-stake or locktite them when you get them back in after checking for sure you have the plate back in the correct orientation. You don't want your motor to "inhale" one. Very important. I used a dremel to round off the backside of those screws before trying to remove them since they are staked in place from the factory.

In the process of rebuilding it now. Had a few screws strip.
