I just I hooked up the compressor to my 97 eclipse GSX shot the air into the system with the compressor full with about 80 lbs of air. I could never get the boost guage in the car to move very much. Im guessing because it was leaking out to fast for the system to hold the pressure. I heard a slight hissing noise coming from around the two throttle body gaskets, I then sprayed some soapy water around it and the idle screw begain to slightly bubble along with the throttle body gaskets but not all that much, but yet I swear thats where the hissing was coming from. Is this a pretty common place to leak boost the car only has 55k miles. Also would that explain me not being able to hardly get the factory boost guage in the car to pump up? Please advise. Thanks:confused:

Yes even with new gaskets I still got a boost leak from the throttle body, make sure to use an rtv sealant. I did and it fixed the problem perfectly.

ya, but shouldnt his boost gauge still be reading higher... is there the same amount of air coming out as going in? if not then shouldnt your gauge be slowly rising...good luck finding the problem, hope this helps

Not unless its a huge leak or he is not doing it right, regardless he still has a leak there that needs to be fixed and hopefully that will make his car run way better if it is that big of a leak.

Did you remember to check the TB shaft seals?

Assuming the leak is loud @80psi, you could also try turning the pressure down to where it is not very loud, it will be easier to pinpoint, as opposed to a very loud leak which could sound like its coming from everywhere.
