Hi

I have now installed the Blackbox, setup ecuflash with ceddy mods.

I am planning on installing my FP t28 turbo and flash the bigger injectors and set the latency to 0.048 as I found in this DSM Forum.

But is it still safe to drive without a complete tune?

For info:
I have the innovate wideband that just arrived at my door and i am planning running it serately (not touching the 02 in ecu wires)

Hopefully I Can get some good answers

I wouldn’t risk it with you changing the injector sizes, as there may be some issue with needing some fine tweaking or tuning.

There’s also the issue that every so often when flashing I found the scaling with my map would be off so it would completely throw off the tune and run the wrong AFR numbers. No clue why it did that but reflashing it would completely fix it.

If I did that without a wideband it could’ve cost me an engine. Which is exactly what happened to the idiot I sold the car to. He “fixed” the tune and blew the engine within a week.

Thanks for answer.
I just bought the innovate wideband which i am setting up so it does not run in the original o2 sensor But with a bung further Down the downpipe.

So when I have installed the turbo and injectors I just send (transport) it to the tuner with my pc and getting it tuned/flashed/remapped ?

"safe" is not exactly a concrete question to be able to answer. If you're asking if it's fine to flash the new scaling and then drive it around, the answer is only discoverable by YOU. you need to log and monitor your AFRs and adjust as things go too lean or too rich. If I were you, read up on some of the large writeups on how to tune, you are at ground level. You need all your parameters setup and also you need the capability to monitor the vehicle. If that's confusing, go read any of Ceddy's writeups, watch the ECUFlash EVO tuning series, etc.

You should get a base line log. Then go from there. I dont see anything too crazy for you to say it's not "safe" on the factory tune, butttt you can put urself in trouble very easily when u add mods. Just ask about anybody who tried to DIY and then sumthin bad happened :mrt:
