Swapping - Wiring Harness Question

I was just wondering if I am going to have to take out the whole dash in order to take the wiring harness out of the car that I am taking the computer out of. Thanks

To remove the engine wiring harness yes the dash has to come off, and 2 of the heater boxes behind the dash on the right also must come out plan on making it a 4 hour project

not to steal the thread but someone stole my harness from my ecu ( car got stolen last week from my driveway) what other years can i use? will all 89-94s work? what about 95-99?

Holy crap! They stole your car took the ecu and cut the wiring harness that connected to it! Well, not only do you have the oddball 1990 year wiring that is different from all the other, but you also have a cali car, your gonna need exact year wiring and it to be cali wiring because theres extra sensors and crap. Sorry man, unless you can find an exact year, make, and model your SOL

thats what i thought. oh well you think the dealer will have it. they also took my fmic turbo and exhaust system along w/ the deck and custom 12s boxes i made. bastards

i still have the ecu. the harness that connected to it they took b/c my afc was spliced into it

So you still have the ecu, but they took the harness end that connected to it? Dam dude sorry about the loss thats heavy, insurance gonna do anything about it?

I say go to the junkyard and get that end the 3 plug pigtail you need, get one off a 90 and make sure its a 90 the other years are different. I say head to the junkyard and get replacements on everything

i put like 9 Grand into it but never updated my unsurance (stupid me) so all i had was liability. ill be lucky to get high blue book for it, but then i have to buy it back. oh well it was a good learning experiance. after insurance is donw with it imma break the motor down and rebuild it and go bigger. my new goal is 500+ whp anyone wanna contribute to the funt i have a paypal account . it sucks because i stil owe like 7 grand on credit cards from the parts that got taken

im sure i can do it. i have all the time in the world b/c i have another car, im going to see if insurance will just do the electrical (because i dont feel comfortable doing it myself) and i will deal with everything else

Well my lazy ass just got up at 11;30 and as soon as I eat im gonna start takin out the dash. Is there any tricks that is going to make this a pain in the ass that I should know about before I start? I am just glad that I don't have to put this one back together since the car is pretty much junk.

Is there anywhere on the net that shows how to get the heater boxes out? I have taken off the nuts and tried to wiggle it to see where it is still connected and the damn thing doesnt move at all...

Yea i had the same proble, thats where I spent the mojority off my time try to get them dam heater boxes out, well, since its just a parts car i say get a pry bar and break it out

That definately has been the biggest pain in the ass so far. I got one side to pop out, but now it is like it's stuck in the middle somwhere, but I dont know what the hell it is catching on...I think I have to take a bit of a break before I end up breaking something....
