Alright long story short, I got into a accident today and had to swerve into a concrete barrier to avoid hitting the car in front of me and there was minimal damage to my car except some of the suspension components.

Now I was wondering would it be best to source a new subframe or would i be able to get away with getting it welded without it affecting it’s integrity?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, just want some honest opinions from you guys. maybe someone’s been in a similar situation as me and they did something different.

That is fixable BUT you want to make sure the frames not kinked from the knock as that tear takes excessive force to do so if that failed you possibly may have other issues, like the resr mounting where the force would of gone to from this hit

I would take it to a frame shop if I wanted to it to track true.

It's going to need a subframe, lower control arm, outer tie rod end, perhaps a new inner, maybe new front hub and bearings, and I'm guessing a rim to start plus a visit to the frame shop like Marty recommends.

I wouldn't be too surprised to hear it needs a new rack. It looks like you hit pretty hard.

Thanks for the quick reply guys! It’s currently at the tow trucks lot and once I get it back I’ll take it somewhere to get a better look at the possible issues it has. I’m hoping the damage wasn’t to severe
Sucks I just barely got the car up and running recently after sitting for a year

Replace, as someone who has been in the body industry quite a while most body shops will not repair that. Lawsuit reasons is why. We can be sued by your insurance company if down the road something happens and we did something against repair procedure. We are liable for the repairs we do for customers so any good shop will refuse to do something that could get them in a lawsuit.

Hey guys! I’m about to get the car back and since the direction you guys recommended is for me to replace the whole thing all together. Is there a difference between the Awd and Fwd front sub frame? Couldn’t seem to find a good answer on the forums.
One said it raises the rack a little compared to fwd. is this accurate?
