I'll be going to the track for the first time this month. I'm hoping to get a 13 second pass with some decent driving. I'm wanting to get some advice on launch points, etc for the track. I have Jeff O's stage 2 modified ECU. Rev limiter is upped to 8250rpm's, no fuel cut, etc. My stutterbox is set at 4000rpms. I'm thinking with my current mods (in my sig.), this is a bit too high. With the pedal to the floor and hitting the stutterbox, I can build between 4-6psi of boost off the line. Please give me your advice. Thanks guys. Oh, and I'll be throwing in some 110 leaded race gas as well:thumb:

Good luck doing your burnout at the line. Use that to start your burnout in the burnout box, but trying to launch with a stutter that high is going to be near impossible with your mods in a FWD.

Yeah, I'm thinking of having Jeff O. at dsmchips lower it to 3500 rpms which would be more reasonable...

You might be able to get away with 4,000 if you get a nice wheel/slicks combination and just drive right through the wheelspin.

But I think a lower launch limiter would be the better choice.

With my FWD, I was launching at 3800 on garbage tires, only getting a best of 2.2 60's. After installing some AGX's in the back, and retreads up front, launching at 4500rpm, I could cut hi 1.9's. The one thing I do NOT recommend, is flooring the car to launch. Only give it about 50% throttle. Because if you launch with the pedal to the floor, the instant you come off that clutch and the stutterbox disengages, you are going WOT and gonna spin. Launch at about 50-60% throttle, and play the clutch/gas out of the hole. Takes a LOT of practice. I got my FWD down to 12.80@109 on a small 16G, with a 1.98 60' doing it this way.

Good advice. I figured the stutterbox wouldn't really work on a FWD, only AWD. It's just cool to hit it a few times around time and have people turn their heads:D Was 109 your fastest trap time (mph) with the small 16G? I'm hoping to get that this coming March with my mods below. I'm installing 650cc injectors this weekend! My friend with a FWD and big 16G at 22psi hit 112mph in his car with similar mods to mine.

I had the stutterbox on the FWD as well. it helps for racing a lot more than you think. I got tired of trying to hold a certain rpm for so long. Now, I can just run up to the line, hit 50% throttle, and be sitting at my desired rpm.

I've gone as fast as 113mph, but at a worse ET (bad launch). Think it was 12.96@113 or something. Back then, I had a lot less experience and inferior parts. With better gas, tuning, and more boost, I'm sure I could have gone faster.
