stupid question

this might be a stupid question but is there a store i can buy the oil return line gasket other than mits dealer or our vendors. part # MR258477
changing all my fluids and might aswell change the gasket for this sucker because it always leaks somehow.

and also what type of rtv can i use around the gasket to make sure there are no leaks. thanks again. sorry if its a dumb question.

I use coppper why dont you want to use vendors or dealers the only store is the dealer, or vendors they dont sell them at pep boys etc. Some parts are specific you cant get the oil return line at a auto store either.

well i was going to change my oil this weekend. vendors have great prices extreme psi @ $2
the stealership $3.68!!!! i guess ill go to the dealer shipping is $7.50 so if i buy two $11.50.
considering its new years the stealership part department wont open until monday. i guess it will have to wait.

Technically you can run straight RTV as a gasket, it is just not recommended as it can cause some serious problems. If you want to do that, just use a thin (basically a glaze) layer of black RTV after cleaning the mating surfaces really well and use thread sealant on the bolts.

Otherwise, O'Reilly Auto Parts and NAPA both show a Fel-Pro kit, part #ES72787, that will have them in there.

i agree with 19eclipse90. there is oil resistant 700 degree rtv silicone at autozone for like 6 bucks. rtv it and you should be good to roll!!!

no this isnt a thread complaining about 3.68 for a gasket. i was just asking if there are other locations where i can buy these gaskets. i was planning to change my oil and tranny fluid today. the dealership is closed where I'm at and the nearest vendor is RRE which would have been closed by the time i got there.

on a side note i'll go to autozone and get some rtv.
how about putting Teflon on the bolt? will that help or no. just curious

Just go to your local auto parts store and get the turbo gasket set.
