Stupid question

What kind of tuning devices do you use, or be more specific please.

I have Ecmlink v3, i just need to know if disconnecting the battery or disconnecting anything can erase a tune. Im going to have it tuned by Stm and they want $400 for a full link tune, i dont want to have to spend another $400 because of something happening to my tune. So im looking for info about anything that can effect it

My battery was unplugged when i had link, and died a few times but when i made changes to my set up is when link was erased. Hey ive been following your threads is the car coming along ok.

Bring your lap-top and save a copy of the tune before leaving the shop.

Do you think they will let me do that without a problem?

Yea im wooried about something stupid erasing a $400 tune.. And yea the cars coming along pretty good other then drilling out the few broken turbo bolts so far

If they won't, go elsewhere.

Maybe Mueller can get away with modifying your car without telling you what he is doing, but no engine tuner can because you can always do the save fifty feet after leaving the shop.

You are asking that you have a way to protect what you paid for. If they don't like this idea, then go elsewhere. Simple as that.
