Congrats! car looks like a sleeper from outside love the simple setup

Congrats man. We got down to the 11.2 range and never made it back with my buddies car. Love the consistency.

Oh if you haven't purchased them already, lemme know when your ready for a set of slicks.

Thanks.

Yeah I need tires. I'm really in love with pulling off the street and making passes though. Since I don't have a tow setup I have to carry the tires, jack, and tools to swap tires. Not fun in this heat. Let me know what you got. I need a 26" or taller tire though. I'm out of rev's, don't trust the stock bottom end (with balance shafts!!!) at these speeds.

I was originally thinking of wheels with a 26" drag radial so I could still drive it to the track. Then spray a 100 shot out of the hole and see if it holds. I'd of course renew my AAA membership before attempting it at the track. :)

I get what your saying. M&H has some nice street strip bias stuff that works. Only down fall to M&H is the wheel sizing. Most stuff is 15". They added a 26x8.5x17 full slick which is nice if you run big brakes.

I got Shane (SBstar) his and can hook you up if the M&H is up your ally.

With turbine pressures so high, have you thought of running a boost controller to see of you can get more power on a lower boost level??

I can vouch for getting your tire selection from Justin! Top notch service and quickly shipped.

Also I agree with Justin on the boost controller idea. More often then not you'll make more power if you regulate boost instead of letting the turbo go for all it's worth.

Whoa, another Auto swap and 10 second small turbo DSM, nice.:thumb:

What tire size and trap rpm were you seeing on that 10 Sec run?
From your post it sounds like you might be revving it to like 8300rpm on a 24.5" tire.

The evolution tires are 25.4" or so, but mine are on the wear bars, so maybe 25.2"? I hit the rev limiter through the beams, not sure if it is set at 8000 or 8200 rpm, haven't connected the laptop to it in over a month

On the TCI website when you insert your numbers, (25.4 tire and 122mph) it shows this ....

8000rpm traps = 12.1% slippage

8200rpm traps = 14.9% slippage

You probably have a mid 10 second DSM if you can tighten up the top end.
8000rpm with a 7% converter came out to 128mph so there's room to be a killer sleeper here.

Good luck this Summer.:hellyeah:

The MH street strip Bias are 25.4 as well if you're lucky you might get a taller set and they grow alittle with speed but its not a 26 or 26+.

I don't really want to be shifting into fourth. Plus if I want to spray it or grow in turbo size the 26.1" tire is the way to go. For sure I've ran a 24.5" slick two years ago and the small tire works great to the 1/8. However for driving to and from the track I feel a 26" drag radial would hook better than a smaller tire. Plus I already have 17" wheels which ther make a 26" tire for :)

I've got a lot of boost on tap at 3200rpm. If your interested in street manners, it has meaningful hill climbing power at 2500rpm, you can build 5psi or so at half throttle. I have my cams tuned for peak HP. Moving the cams around you can move that powerband around significantly. Also I have the stock 1g intake manifold and stock valves, so that helps with torque production.

On the dyno it made peak torque at 6200rpm and held HP out to 7600RPM where we shut it down. I never thought I'd have to rev it much higher than that so I don't know how it is doing past the 1000', but my gut feeling is not so good.

Also I agree with Justin on the boost controller idea. More often then not you'll make more power if you regulate boost instead of letting the turbo go for all it's worth.

Going back through this thread.....

I have ran a boost controller in the past. It has always MPH'd to the 1/8 and the 1/4 the best with the wastegate disconnected. I understand the theory as to why you want to run lower boost pressure but I've found that more is better. Last fall it was on a f****** pass when I put the spring on the wastegate with the line disconnected but the motor let go. I'll probably do the same thing this fall and see if she holds. Its tricky because I gotta lift early when it starts blowing up because I don't have a tow vehicle haha! I usually lift when I feel the first misfire, then its off to the bathrooms filling up jugs of water for the trip home.

congrats hope to see this car at the shootout 2013!

Not ever going to happen, sorry. Too much time to go there, too much drama surrounding the event, not my style.

One of the members on here sold me a stock 1g torque converter for a great price. I didn't even want to buy one but he was awesome and hooked me up. I'm going to throw it in next weekend and wait for better weather to start testing it. Hoping to hit the track a lot in september and october and best the 10.90. Hoping to log the car as well as measuring the tires to get some converter slip numbers as well. I'll also be changing the trans fluid out for the first time in 3.5 years to some of the john deere hy guard stuff, we'll see how it all performs!

Hopefully you'll be able to 60ft ok with the stock converter in there, that could negate the top end gain if it doesn't.

Not sure I'd run the thicker John Deere fluid at all, but especially with a lower stalling converter like the stock converter.

As far as the jd fluid there is 2 different viscositys of it. I was reading on yellowbullet about rhe light weight being good for about a 500rpm increase in stall.

Please prove that.

I just may have to try this fluid. If it really does add 300rpm of spool for the launch. That would put me around 2600 rpm @ probably 18 psi for launching.

If I do try it I'll make sure to do a writeup so other folks can see the results.Or if anyone tries it before me, make sure to write a tech article..
