So, I have a 04 SRT-4 and my friend w/a 99 GS-T is looking into buying my FMIC for 150$ and getting custom piping from AMS for about $300...My car w/stock intercooler can go 11.9's at quickest usually. Now, how much whp, Ft/LBS toruqe over stock would he be seeing? Also, all he has is a Blitz BOV, stock I/C Piping, 18's, and lowered, and gauges...so stock T-25 Turbo...how much of a gain would he be looking at, and also, how much whp would u guys be able to put up with w/the srt-4 FMIC?

Kenny

Forgot to mention:
Measurement: 2 3/4" x 5 3/4" x 24" that is the core size.
2 1/2" (each) intanke and outlet

DOesnt matter what size it is man...theres people doing 350whp and LOW 12's and into the 11's on this intercooler. Size isnt always everything man.

Read this then come talk... http://www.are.com.au/techtalk/intecoolersMR.htm

Similar numbers have been done on the stock 1g/2g intercoolers. Lots of stuff can do a 1/4-mile at a time or a dyno pull. If tito's dimensions are correct, that's a pretty small intercooler. Even a Supra sidemount dwarfs it. It's better than the stocker, though.

I sold a stock SRT4 FMIC to a member on this site. His planed to install it on his 2G. I never heard back from him though, so I dont know how it went. I cant remember his name though, but he's from the Chicago area.

Well I bout my FMIC from ^^^ and well its all done the instalation any ways. Here is a link so that you can check out some pics if you want.

well i had to change some things on the car for it to fit a lil modifications here and there but its all good just a pain in the a**. It runs a hella of a lot better with this mount than with the stock side mount. I just gotta get it tuned now cuz i went with MAFT blow threw and all. Car is almost done just have to do a couple lil things here and there... :thumb:

at one point i was running my greddy type 24 fmic on my t25, and i had to turn the boost back up as i saw about a 2psi drop in pressure. so yes fmic on stock 25 is usually not beneficial from my experience. not to mention i believe the end tanks on an srt4 aim backwards (towards the radiatior) im positive the the spacing between the radiator and the installed fmic end tank in and outlets would be very small and not allow you to squeeze a decent size IC pipe in there if at all. and even if u could ud be adding two 90degree bends in the IC piping :notgood: . if ur buddy wants to functional IC upgrade id recommend a supra smic. if he wants the looks of a fmic and realizes its not going to really benefit him on the stock turbo i've seen cores on ebay (obx 24" x 11 x2.5") on ebay for 259. then all he needs is pipes......good luck

he posted pics of his fmic, the in/out are inline with the fmic, you wouldnt need bends...

The install looks good man. :thumb: For some odd reason, I was thinking you had a 2G....

It works really good! I am just amazed!!

I used 2 1/4" piping! I will take a picture of the piping!

What do u think???
:D

There are a few misinformed people out there.

The stock SRT-4 FMIC is not smaller than the supra.
350whp is NOT the max range.

Did you even read the dimensions? I sold both IC's to people and the SRT is by far bigger. The SRT-4 intercooler is on many cars making in the 400whp range if not more. It is listed to work, in conjunction with, S3r. The lightwieght car is using almost all stock parts of the intake system. Even the stock airbox.

The endtanks are pointed back toward the radiator but can be changed out to go laterally. Sure it cost a little bit, but for the price of this over one of those other brand named ICs it is worth it.

Just my .02

OFFTOPIC: so which car do you enhoy better? WTF

Well, first things first. I jumped the gun. The core of the SRT-4 is quite effecient. Good enough to go hand in hand with the stage3 option.

As for the cars and which one is more enjoyable....

The GS-T was all out fast on the highway. The one thing I disliked was the constant "listening" I was doing though. Always feeling as if something wasn't right. PLus the headaches of the Trans.

The SRT-4 is faster than most think in first person. If you haven't driven one, test it. You will like. I still don't understand why some are disliking the car. :toobad:

The Srt-4 is an awesome car IMO... I was going to get 1 but... rather then be in debt I just bought an older DSM. But yeah the srt-4 gets alota crap from the neon name... If they came out with the Srt-4 before the neon, as they did with the Evo/Lancer... It would probably be a different story.

i deff agree that SRT-4's have been given a bad name because their a Neon....i would deff buy one if they looked different. My friends dad has one and it's a sweet ride....I just dont dig the exterior look of the car. Hell of a good engine.

There are just as many different exterior options on the SRT as an E/L/T. Just got to know where to look. LOL

My homepage has a bunch of info, pics, and vids of these cars. Not at all bad for the price I paid ($20k out the door).

Thanks for the positive comments though. Are people actually easing off the SRT is just a neon thing? LOL LOL!

Yep, that sounds about right.

I am talking surface area that will see air and actually COOL the charged air.

If the dimensions for FMIC was based upon Cubic Inches than all these other FMIC would be useless compared to the Supra, no.

Supra SMIC is what?
16x10x8 = 1280 Cubic Inches

AGP's DSM FMIC is what?
28x10.5x3.5 = 1029 Cubic Inches

Are you all going to choose the $200 SMIC over the AGP one?
