Stock SRT-4 FMIC on DSM's?

So, I have a 04 SRT-4 and my friend w/a 99 GS-T is looking into buying my FMIC for 150$ and getting custom piping from AMS for about $300...My car w/stock intercooler can go 11.9's at quickest usually. Now, how much whp, Ft/LBS toruqe over stock would he be seeing? Also, all he has is a Blitz BOV, stock I/C Piping, 18's, and lowered, and gauges...so stock T-25 Turbo...how much of a gain would he be looking at, and also, how much whp would u guys be able to put up with w/the srt-4 FMIC?

big fmic's on a small turbo like the T25 is a bad idea, it can actually hurt him, because he is losing pressure. But i dunno how good the srt4 fmic's are, so i dont really know.

yea, there good for about 350whp, and they do 11.9's on my car w/stock FMIC

So did somebody tried this?
I am part of a srt-4 club and sooner or later somebody will get rid off one stock FMIC, and I will take it. ;) I think it is about the right size the thing is that. It might be too tick to fit in.

If somebody install it, please let me know. :thumb:

I am putting a srt4 mount in my 91 GSX and well i cant fit the stock radiator in the right spot where it belong due to the end tanks on the fmic. Does anyone have any suggestions on this mount. I buddy told me i could get another radiator that is a little bit shorter. I checked a local junk yard and well i came out with one from a VW. I was gonna buy it but its was all messed up. So im looking around for one right now. So would this have any effect on anything.

Unless you got that for free, leave it off the car (SRT-4 FMIC).

I have an SRT-4 and it is the first thing most upgrade, besides the WGA.


Especially if it causes you to go with a smaller radiator.

Well the thing is that my buddy is already doing the piping and everything for the srt 4 mount and well its already in the car bolted up. I was gonna go with a starion i had laying around but he said its better to put the srt one in. :tease: so that is what i went with and its just about like one inch on each side to big i think... So know i just need to get a radiator for it... :cry:
 
From what i have heard and read putting a fmic on a stock t-25 turbo is not the best idea. The side mount has no pressure drop compared to a bigger front mount, the side mount is fine until the turbo is upgraded. But dont quote me on this im not 100% sure.

TRUE. But, SRT-4 FMIC is a little bigger than the stock SMIC and cheaper than the Evo 8 FMIC. Do the math. Also In order to use it in our car you need to do a TIG welding job at both ends of the FMIC. I did it. Just recently, I havent had any time and piping to adapt it to my car.

did you not read what GRNDSM said up above... 400-440 whp on evo8's with the stock evo8 fmic...

if 350whp on srt-4's maxing it out. and you can get the evo8 fmic just as cheap and it can hold 100 more whp... what would you get?

yes theres a dsmer her ein chicago running a srt frontmount on his 1g, with a 16g, that shit hits harder than ever now, I mean way harder than then with the smic.
 
For further reference check the pics of my srt-4 FMIC.
I havent installed, either clean it :coy:

It was TIG welded for 50 Dollars taking all the materials with me.
THe materials (pipes, plates) & intercooler were for free.
So, I might as well try and Install it.
I am not loosing anything. :D
