On my bone stock 1990 Plymouth Laser RS I ran into an issue with the MAF. The car surges and runs stupid rich with the MAF sensor plugged in to the harness but when un-plugged it runs way better.

What is the proper way to diagnose a Karman vortex MAF?
Can I clean it like a heated wire MAF?
Please help me!
