Steps on converting to 2g MAF?

Ok, I have searched for over two days now and havent found anything on the accuall parts and steps (just tid-bits on parts and nothing on accualy doing it) I need to take to convert my 1g over to the 2g maf.
Please ither set me up a link to the steps and parts, or better yet! , If you could just tell me what to get and where to get it I would be very thankfull.

p.s. Im not good a souldering so if you can i need to find a premade addapter...

honestly google it. or look in the sponsors shops. There are many places out there that offer MAF pnp harness's for you.

To swap em, you need a 2g maf, pipe, adapter and filter. If your not going to do your own soldering a premade wire harness is where its at. Most of this stuff you can either find on ebay, or in the for sale section.

I have guys locally that were able to do a lot to help me in this matter, so I didnt have to look it all up or hunt anything down. But I have done the research I needed to do the wiring myself..

.....I didnt even think of ebay for the pnp harness, . As for the 2g maf I know where to get that, what pipe and filter should I get? Also will I be able to do this as a basicly pnp thing or am I going to have to get a MAFT or something like that for it too work?

Look at the link I posted. That is the old-school cheap bastid's way of doing it. It effing works good too. I ran similar intakes for years and it worked awesome.

Thanks for the link, I hardly evr use that website for some reason, very good site, even though it doesnt tell me what i asked it still helps with the filter part.

Any idea on where to get a pipe to work?

I allways just hacked my 1g pipe, but you can allways run a 2g FP Intake, Injen Intake, Dejon Intake, or the 40$ Ebay Injen Knockoff.

$40 pipe sounds GOOD! is it on ebay for a 1g or a 2g so i know what to type in?

2nd gen. Only thing that will be an issue will be a bov recirculation. Just got to advance or wherever and look for some radiator hose you can cut to fit.

I recently looked into all that on ebay. You should be able to pick it all up for about 100 bux. 2g intake pipe kit is like 50 bux. And thats the pipe, couplers, and filter and adapter. That leaves you needing a MAF and pnp harness. Last I saw a harness was about 45 bux. So whatever your going to pay for the 2g maf is the added cost. it could cost you next to nothing really.

Get a logger at least 550s and a 2g maf great match, and keep the boost low no not sure how low but invest in a wideband. I saw datalogger set ups on ebay 100 bucks though, check out some tuning ideas, and platforms, link lite is a great start so you can always upgrade to full version later.

I just did the swap on my car. I had my ECU chipped, put 680's in and a 2g maf. Had all the goodies added to my ECU so I did not need any AFC or anything like that. I have another 1g eprom that I am willing to sell. The guys that did my chip in my car will go over it, replace caps if needed, socket and make a chip for anything you need if your interested in buying it. The did a great job on mine, it has the knock sensor for the stock boost gauge, 2 step, and a few other things I dont even remember. So LMK if your interested.

On another note, I had an issue with the 2g tube fitting because of length. The air filter would not fit on it because of length. I used the 1g dejon pipe I have and a coupler to seal it all up. Its still a very tight fit however.
