AM I to understand that i'm supposed to dial up a leaner BASE setting to get High trims closer to 0. Check this OUT!

http://www.fullthrottletech.com/forums/showthread.php?p=793#post793

I have the same issues with - (negative Fuel trims as that guy)

OMG. I go outside to re check everything since reading that thread @ the MAFT fourum. I looked at the DIP switches. I HAVE BEEN RUNNING MY 2G in 1G mode (the 2nd toggle on the dip switches) for the last 8 months!. So I set the dipswitch to the appropriate setting (ON) for 2G. Holy shit I can't beleive I missed tha!. I'm curious, what was running the 1G settings doing to my car in terms of fuel delivery? LEan? as my EGT are much better know that its set correctly.

ANyway, on that note. I am assuming I have 450's in my car. I'm starting to think thier 550's! And i've had 550's or some other upgraded injector in there forever and didn't know it? I haven't personaly upgraded them I assume/ed they are 450's, hence the following.

SO I get to tune my car all over again .. Joy! :p really.

I took hold of the info listed in the thread above and adjusted the BASE setting to 2 -10%, in essence for 500cc injectors to get my High FT's in order. This seemed to work they are much closer to 0 know but still somewhat negative and still go to -13 on the LTFT when cruising.. I leaned the IDLE out to -10% to help bring the idle trim to 0 . Went ahead and leaned the MID out -10% while I was at it. o2's cycle nice, Good timing, good EGT. no bucking or complaining.

I then did some WOT pulls. 0 Correction. @ 16 psi I promptly hit fuel cut. so I leaned the WOT -5% and did another pull, hit fuel cut again. LEaned the WOT out to -10% and @ 16psi all was well with EGT, under/at 825C! (I've never seen such low EGT's during my pulls!) and was seeing 16 deg advance @ 6500. o2's were like 1.14. This is all with the BASE allready set @ a -10% for 500cc's, leaner correction accross the board and the another -10% for the WOT and its running like its got a Jato rocket strapped to it with good timing and EGT. i'm confused and hesitant to lean things out anymore via the BASE or WOT. I still don't like seeing the -13 LTFT while cruising. Everything my logger and EGT tells me that I need to contine to lean things out some more and or have room to turn the boost up!?

IT just seems that the settings i'm inputting and the results i'm seeing in my logs say i'm tunning a larger injector!

its a MAFT 1.3
blow thu w/honeycomb
other mods in profile
no leaks.

Looking for KPT4321 so ring in on this one :D

Hi. :) I guess I have to answer questions on two different boards?;)

Ok, here is the deal as I see it:

You have the base knob set to -10%, and the fuel trim at cruise is telling you that you are still rich. You also have the WOT knob set to -10%, which means that at full throttle you have a total correction of -20%.

Here is what you want to do:

Put the WOT knob back to zero (0%). You don't want to tune WOT, until you get the base knob set right.

Then, use the base knob to tune until you get the LTFT at cruise right on. It will probably take another click or two (5-10%).

Once that is done, then you can tune using the WOT knob, if you need to.

You shouldn't just leave the fuel trims at -13, that means you are way rich (on a 2g).

Gotcha.. I found a boost leak post MAF!. the TB shaft is leaking. I imagine this is whats throwing off my cruise trims and the my ability to get it where I need it. WIll fix the leak and I returned my WOT corrections O. Should I continue to run the lean correction for the BASE? I took the BASE to -15% and things are cool so far. the cruiseLTFTs came down a little but not much maybe -11. I'm not going any leaner till I fix that leak. i'm going to whatch the datalogger some more this afternoon. And will report back.

So "I HAVE BEEN RUNNING MY 2G in 1G mode (the 2nd toggle on the dip switches) for the last 8 months!.

how bad was that for my car? yes it survived and didn't blow up but I wandering how much of a "DOH!" that was
