2G Starter Problem?

Car has been running fine, went to leave work yesterday and car wouldn't crank up. Crawled up under it and hit the starter a few times and it started up. That made me think starter

Got in it today to come home from work and the motor spun over a few times before it started, almost sounded like the battery was dead when I tried to crank it, you could hear the whining noise of the motor turning a few times like with a dead battery, and soon as it sounded like it was going to stop turning, it crunk up. So starter?

No auto parts store around here will do any type of diagnostics right now due to covid

Thanks, tried to crank it up tonight to see what would happen before I went to work tomorrow and motor spun over like once and quit, tried again and nothing. So going to go thru the fun part of replacing the starter.

Its a fairly easy job,pull the battery and battery tray and reach behind the intake and feel the wires going to the starter, remove them with a wrench, remove the two bellhousing bolts that hold the starter in and simply slide the starter out from behind.

Check and make sure the battery cable terminals are clean from any corrosion.
