So I did a motor swap.

Car wouldn't start after vigorous cranking (first issue)

Then I realized that with dead time I can not run the 1600cc (no start problem 1)

Put in 880cc tuned the gm maft translator to accept them.

Went to crank her over, got two cranks before nothing but clicking .....

Trip to auto store proved my spare starter was good

My original starter (in car) blew the testing units fuse and breaker (yikes)

So Im guessing that was the issue

Put the spare starter in got one good crank , then sound of spinning starter

Went to crank again. Got nothing . No click no crank ....

I'm hoping I didn't seize engine from excesses cranking , or did damage to electrical system..

I have no idea what it can be. I checked fuses and grounds .... I'm at a loss..

i been having starter issues with my car as well. came to find out it was my main wire on my positive terminal that was not getting good contact. i took it out and clean the terminal and wire and the car start in one.

I agree ^

Check to make sure your battery connections are clean and tight. Then check and make sure the starter is nice and tight.

Do you have power when you turn the key forward but not trying to start it?

I doubt you seized your engine from cranking it, unless you had no oil in it

I relocated battery to trunk , but have never had a issue with current.

I also jump it while trying to start it (for that extra boost)

The lights all turn on. Everything gets power but starter

Lines and starter has been triple checked. I have no idea what it can be...

Have you physically put a multimeter on the starter B+ terminal to see what the voltage is? Have you tried bench testing the starter to see that the bendix is coming out?

Multi - meter no, but I ran it threw the test at the auto store and watched it extend and spin.

It did thus the first time I installed it also, but second (engine did nor kick on first )

Then it made the free spinning sound and made no sound the third time around ....

Check your starter solenoid my connecting the two posts with a screwdriver and see if it turns. If it turns and doesn't crank check the wires going from your injectors to the unit on the firewall.

i would definetly check you battery for a full charge. if the starter the second time just spun it didn't engage properly. the clicking noise is the silenoid not getting enough amps. try fully charging your battery change your starter fuse and make sure its properly grounded and the power wire to the starter is tight and solid straight from battery to starter and it should crank:thumb:

The starter is not turning the Flywheel. It's no longer making connection with it

. I jump the car each time I crank it, to make sure it gas enough amps.

ok if you say you had a motor swap what flywheel did you use your old one that was originally in your car right

Yes, but in the process of cranking it I burned the 14 year old starter out so I had to use my spar. Also the threads are stripped in the original one as well.

Would it work if I replaced the soliniod and retapped the original ? That's the only thing I can think of
