starter doesnt even click

Someone decided to use my car as a donor while it was at my buddy's house. WTF Long story short, my old starter worked fine, put in a new one since they took out my old one, and the solenoid isn't kicking it out. I can kick it out by jumping it to the positive though. Any ideas?

Ignition switch or starter relay, or the wiring to them.

Sound like somebody for to plug in the wire that goes to the starter.

All wires are connected (only 3 of them) and nothing changed from when the old starter was in.

Just start going through all the wires involved in the starter? Thinking about just making my buddy that took the old one off deal with it.

Getting power when trying to start it? Clutch switch pluged in?

Did you use a tester to see if power is getting to the solenoid wire when you crank it, are all your grounds connected?
are all your fuses/ relays okay, inspect the wiring too.
hopefully you'll figure it out.

Apparently there was a wire disconnected, but it wasn't on the starter. Connected it and it just pushed out and didn't spin. Went back to parts store and got another one (lifetime warranty) and it works fine.

Now to move on to my oil leak... (feed line to turbo) and tire leak.... (bent rim?)
