I have a '93 talon tsi this is my first turbo and my first DSM so im a noob to alot of this site but anywho heres the deal. The car was running fine, idleing perfect, and so on but i went to bed woke up the next mourning and started her up and it idles like crap. So then i let it warm up to opperating temperature and it still idles bad. while driving and i rev it up as soon as it hits 4000rpm it make this grinding sound almost like when you use a buzzsaw to cut a pipe. I have oil and ive had a few people say i might have spun a bearing, and yes to be honest i beat on it a few times the night before. However it was hours before i went to bed and it ran perfect when i was driving it around after beating on it. Also another weird part is the sound kinda sounds like its from the turbo but i took the intake off to check the wheel and stuck my finger in there and theres no shaft play or resistance it spins freely and also its pretty much brand new. I've never had a problem like this before ever but hopefully some one else has and can help me diagnose this and yes i have done searches here and have come up with bad idle and grinding but never had any of the two twogether so please help me out. OH!!! ill try to get a clip of it up sometime tommrrow.

- thanks everybody

Well if its any bearings inside your engine, it will stop running and puke in the next day or so.
If its still making noise after that,
have you checked your exhaust? sounds like it MIGHT be something rattling.

If not, your turbo could still be going out, under boost there's more pressure on that shaft than you can move with your fingers.
Look in there with a flashlight for shavings ect.

Since your new I will be easy on you and warn you first. Edit your post so its not a run on sentence. Use punctuation (Im probly a bad example).

A spun bearing typically is more of a knocking noise that speeds up when rpms increase.
Do you still have all the heat shielding on, make sure its not vibrating.

alright alright yea i guess it does kinda run on a bit LOL (gimme a break i gotta D in english) and thanks for the warning and your help and thanks to you two rob. but yea i havent checked the exhaust and i thaught about the heat sheild so i took it off and its still making that darn noise. and the noise happens when im stopped at 4000rpms or driving at 4000rpm and if it is that darn turbo would it cause the crappy idle as well? well thanks for the help

1. Go back and edit your post, use proper grammar, punctuation and CAPITALIZATION, this is not a joke.

2. Fill out your car profile.

I'll check this thread again tomorrow, your original post is probably one of the worst I have seen this year.

Damn dude sorry ive never been on a forums thats that strict but....duely noted all the same. well i hope its fixed enough and also if you think of anything else that might be doin the problem id really appreciate it.
-thanks
