Symptoms of a bad ISC 2G dsm, comment below pls! Having a weird issue with my talon. Last night I was getting on hwy, put it in 3rd and car stalled. Sat on the side of hwy for a bit and it restarted. Tried to re-enter hwy and it stalled again 😞. Finally got towed home. I think it may possibly be my ISC motor, due to the fact that if I disconnect battery and reconnect it’ll start. Also, upon restoring power, the ISC motor makes an odd noise like it’s stuck. This ISC reads 42-43 ohms across all pins. The only other thing I can think is an issue, within ecmlink, my clutch sw function reads a solid 1 even with clutch pressed in. The car is getting fuel & spark. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Push in the clutch and see if the rpm drops. Also while you have the clutch pressed in, rev it and see if the motor has a hard time raising rpm’s. You can also pull and push on the crank pulley hard. When I drained the oil in mine, it looked fine. Not much glitter if any but upon removing the pan, I saw part of the thrust bearing that looked like filleted so checking the oil for bearing material in this case was pointless.

"Fires for half a second" suggests a failure of crank angle information which could be caused by crankwalk, right? I think you can actually see those pulses on a voltmeter, though I don't know the connections for that.

The ECM turns on the MFI for about one second when you turn the key to start. It waits to see pulses from the CAS indicating that the motor is turning over: If it doesn't see those pulses then it turns off the MFI and you lose fuel pressure.

Could also be a broken wire or ??? affecting the 'engine turning over' pulses.

You can look for voltage at the fuel pump check connector. If that goes off after it fires, strong evidence for no pulses.

Problems in the ISC can cause stalling at stop signs (etc.) if it doesn't open up to slow down the decrease of RPM when you take your foot off the gas. ('Dashpot function.') But if the car has been running okay this isn't going to cause 'only starts for half a second.' It'll usually start right up again, though the idle RPM may be off one way or the other.
