2G SRS Question

My 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse. I just put a new battery in her since I replaced the airbags and SRS module. Anyhow, the SRS light. Does that go off with the key on or after I crank the motor? I ask because I cant start the motor because I still need to do timing and want to know in case I have fix the clock spring.

No, for the SRS stuff there is no difference between key on and engine running. If there is an error with the key on, there will still be an error when you start the car.

I wasn’t sure that’s why I was asking cause when I bought the car two months ago both air bags where blown
