Hey guys! New to the forums. Got a 1998 Eagle Talon FWD N/A. At 2500-3000 RPM's I have a high pitched squeal that only happens when the car is in motion. If I continue accelerating it gets higher pitched but if it shifts up while happening it gets more high pitched and louder. I think it's coming from the wheels but the brakes have been checked out and are fine. It's loud enough that other cars can hear it. I don't have the tools yet to get in there and check it out. If anyone has any ideas of what this may be it will make diagnosing and fixing it go a bit faster. Thanks in advance for any insight you guys can give me.
 
I would have to say its most likely a belt issue. have you checked to be sure the belts are tight and in good condition? also, check power steering fluid b/c the pump will squeel if it gets low on fluid. But do to the fact that it gets worse as the idle gets higher, my first thought would be a bad or loose p/s belt or Accessory belt. Check them out and let us know what happens from there.
 
Since it's "high pitched squeal that only happens when the car is in motion. If I continue accelerating it gets higher pitched", I would look at the brake pads being worn/wearing funny, the pad clip that rubs against the rotor when pad is worn too thin (to let driver know you have thin pads), a stuck caliper, a bent brake backing plate rubbing against the rotor, and finally a bad wheel bearing.

When car is in motion and squeeling, notice effect when 1) putting it in neutral and coasting, 2) lightly touching the brake, 3) turning wheel left and right to change lanes, and 4) turning slowly in circles both left and right to see if it changes (tests cv joints and wheel bearings).
 
It's not a belt or fluid issue. I'm going to take apart the real wheel assemblies tomorrow. It will stop if I tap the brakes (sometimes).
