The other day i got out of my eclipse while it was idling to go into a pickup for a delivery. and i noticed there was this squeaky noise almost like to rubber pieces rubbing together. it immediately alarmed me, and i took it home and started it and got out and again was that noise but quieter. the next day i figured i’d check the oil and it was half full i filled it full, and cranked the engine and the noise is gone. I’m feeling like it only happens when the engine gets hot? i have tried with the a/c and heater on thinking it could be that and no. I’m thinking it’s a belt that needs to be replaced but i’m not quite sure. my car today had a rough idle and stayed at 1100 instead of its usual 700 idle range. it went up and down not like crazy just every 45 secs i would say. i pulled out my plug wires and checked for oil and there was none and put them back in thinking they could’ve been loose. and it hasn’t idled rough since then. but it could be hand in hand with my squeaking issue. any help would be Greatly appreciated!
