Evo Electric Blue or Graphite Grey. Just my 2 cents though. BTW why spend $200 now and then more later for a quality body repair place to just have to strip it all back down and do it right? If you just want some color on there you would be better off spending $50 in rim paint and doing it yourself. You'll get the same quality paint job as the Maaco $200 "special"

Yeah WES said he paints all his cars and both his talon and eclipse look amazing so im wondering how he does it ### I would definitely paint my car myself if I could get an in depth description from someone who knows what there doing plus if I do it myself I can get my own unique color rather then the limited options from maaco ### im sure they'd charge extra for certain paints LOL

@ed1380 I love gunmetal I wish I could get a matte gunmetal color without people thinking it was just a cheap spray paint job :/

ironic.... macco's outcome im sure has a similar quality to raddle can......LOL BMW gunmetal metallic is a pretty sweet grey IMHO

heres an idea for you, PLASTIDIP there is a thread about it, looks good and is cheap.. seems to last people quite a long time... OR

primer it the grey you want and hold off on paint til you can afford a quality one.. no sense wasting 200 dollars for something you plan to re-do in the future when funds are avalible...

definitely night shade those tails...........

Painting your car isn't too complicated. You will need to purchase a paint gun and have an air source. When I painted my car we used an air compressor with 17 gallon tank and it worked fine. Having a well ventilated but closed off area is nice. You don't want dirt getting kicked up around your fresh paint. Apply light coats so you don't end up with runs in the paint.

I've seen people get decent results with regular spray cans of paint but have never done that myself. I would also say do it right the first time with quality paint, I cheaped out and a couple years later I definitely regret it.

I actually haven't painted more than a few things on the Talon or Eclipse like new bumper and fender. Glad you think they look good though :D. Without going into huge detail, the key is perfect prep work and good paint. I use nothing but OEM quality paint. Other than that, I just use home-made paint booths and spray guns from Harbor Freight. Painting a car and parts yourself is actually pretty easy. It's the prep that can take days and the equipment can be pricey.

Here's the paint company I use. They have every OEM paint color you can think of and their quality is awesome.

I use this for a paint gun with just a little 10 gallon compressor. I've used the cheaper siphon fed guns before and they definitely get the job done too.

So with good paint, a decent gun (with air dryers at the tank and gun), massive amounts of prep work, and a little practice you can paint your car like a pro. If you decide your truly interested in painting the car yourself, I'd be glad to post up some more in depth details. But like I said, it can be pricey and requires a lot of time and space so look into the cost of things such as compressor, prep supplies, etc.

WES I am definitely interested in the idea of painting my car!! Iv loved all the time and effort iv put into my car its been blast to work on im sure id love to give a paintjob a go :D When its warm I can spend my entire weekend working on my car from the time i get up till its too dark to work :p So im okay with all the prep work id need to do :) All I need to know is just how to do it and the materials id need :) If i do paint it thought I might find a paint color that id enjoy LOL so it might not be OEM but other then that id love a more indepth detailed write up of what id need to do if you find the time WES :) I have 34 days of school left till I graduate so I have plenty of time to work on my car and I can clear out some space in the garage for a while to get the car painted :) and Idk if it matters but you can see the car and its all primed :) so idk if that helps all id have to do it sand down my bumper and reprime it LOL

of course black is a good color. it just gets dirty too easy

everything gets dirty easily..... go silver if your worried

Experience i have had

blue 350z- shows dirt like a mofo
black200SX- also shows dirt like a mofo
silver mazda protege- doesnt show that much dirt/scratches
Green GSX- scratches show up like hell as well as dirt but especially pollin

after you get a fresh paint job, i would wash and wax your car probably every other day LOL then it wont matter which color you have, it will always look good
