Getting Paintjob...colors?

I have the option of getting my car repainted for free by a pro, but I cant decide what colors to choose. Its a 1990 tsi, with spoiler and everything, and its red with the black "top". I was thinking of repainting it the same colors, or going for the all black look. Ive seen one black tsi and it looked really cool.

What are your opinions on this?

All black always looks nice and slick. Maybe add a pearl or something in there for a little effect.

Maybe gunmetal, or how about a copper color?

White/black or black/black are some of the best colors for a 1g. But your problem would be your engine bay. It is red so repainting your car with anything but red would just be ugly, in my opinion. But if you could get your engine bay done black then that would be the best, but tons of work also.

there is a guy on here with like a Lexus gunmetal (its on a 2G) i LOVE that color...i'd get that, or regular black

I say a deep black on the top half and make sure it's very shiney.
Then on the bottom half get a deep red.

I think I might get a deep or dark red. Since the engine bay would look like crap (not to mention the wheel wells and other red stuffs). I DEFINATELY need to repaint the spoiler assembly, it looks more like gray specks on crappy black than black . It will look killer repainted dark red and black on top

That looks awesome! Actually my car will probably look exactly like that when its done. Since first Im converting to a 92 non turbo style body (everything except quarter panels), then its getting repainted. And the fact that I would get it in red. The only difference would be the spoiler...and the wheels.

But, the parts car Im getting all the body panels from is black. So there could be some technicalities there. Well see how it goes, since it probably wont be done until summer.

Oh yeah Im gonna have like 3 like new sets of stock wheels too

I think Im still going with the stock red or a slightly different shade. Im going down this friday to start to strip our donor car (switching to 92-94 rear and front end) and get those panels edged, and clean the headlights. I think that a slightly darker red would look amazing on a 1gb body.

Would that look good, and stand out, on a stock 92 talon n/t body? I was also thinking of cleaning and painting the headlights black, maybe even going for clear corners.
