Hello I'm going to get my car painted, but my painter has to get his placed ok'd from the city because he just moved and his booth isn't up yet so I have some time to turn back, I was wondering if 3k is a good deal for complete paint and custom making a bracket so my kit doesn't sag underneath the headlights and also modling my sideskirts into the car. He is a good place and paints a good amount of the cars at HIN, Tuner bash, etc. I'm just curious is 3k is a good deal even for that kind of paint, oh and the paintjob comes with a spot with him at HIN.

yeah thats not to bad... i paint cars (check out tiecc.net) and its a lot of work molding a kit in... my car is actually fully molded, sides front and back, and it makes the car so much better... i wouldnt get it painted by that person if you are just getting it done for the spot at HIN because then you might as well pay your own way in or get in another way because 3k to enter is a lot haha

I need to get a front bumper painted white, that is already black. When I get it painted do I need to get the entire car painted? And how much would it cost to get the paint touched up? Because its white it has alot of oxygen spot things, the yellow dots all over. Not noticeable from far, but yah.

how old is the other paint job.. there are hundreds of colors of white so you have to make sure you get the right color.. and not only that but if the old paint is oxidized, or spotted, discolored, it is really going to stick out... i am almost possitive that the paint on the DSMs is called GM white, and i dont know what the code is but it has more of a blue tint to it than a lot of other cars that are white..

Well I believe its just the stock 97 whitepaint , not sure what its called.

I can help ya out with this one... i am a painter... if the the car is a stock white that came from the factory all you will need to get painted is just the bumper... paint supply places mix and tint colors to match the exact shade of your car... sometimes you can get a crappy match if the car has spent a lot of time in the sun to where the color has faded but more than likely you should be able to just get the bumper painted... I have been painting for over three years now and i would charge right around 275-300 to fully prep, prime, seal, bascoat and clear the bumper. Hope i was some help there

yeah i am almost possitive that the stock paint color is called GM white, and i dont know what the engine code is, but if you call the mitsu dealer they can tell you what the paint code is by the VIN number so that might be a good route for you to take... or you could take it to the local place where you would buy your car paint, and they can do a test on it and get a reading, telling them what paint to mix together, and they could actually match the paint for how it looks now, not what it did in 1997 or whatever year your car is... if your not going to repaint the entire car i would say that is the best option for you because it would match and not stick out like a sore thumb
