I was pulling the engine out of my 96 GST Spyder and the engine bumped into that shaft that sticks out of the transmission that spins and sends a signal to the speedometer, anyone by chance know where I could get a new one or anyone that's parting out a 96 GST that might have one?

Mitsubishi part numbers for a FWD 2G turbo transmission speedometer gear are MD746492 for a manual and MD757055 for an automatic.

If it's just the black sensor that sticks out of the transmission that's broke the gear that it houses doesn't need to be replaced, just pull it out of the transmission and swap it over to the new sensor.

Brian's correct though, if it's the gear you need to replace those are the correct P/N's. A few years ago ExtremePSi only had one VSS gear on their site ('97-'99 M/T gear) but after a few emails back and forth they finally fixed it so any 2g gear can be ordered.
