Hey folks,

I recently had an issue where a spark plug failed & took out one of my MSD wires. I was looking to replace the whole set as they were a hand me down from my brother's 92 Talon TSI. I've done some shopping around & it looks like I can get the exact part replacement 8.5mm MSD wires for around $100. I did however come across a manufacturer that's making a 9.3mm, kevlar wrapped silicon cored wire set, they're called Matrix.

There are a few places I found on the interwebs where I can get a set of these things for around $30 including shipping.

My question is, have any of you guys even heard of this company "Matrix"? And what experiences you've had with their products? Are they reliable? Money's kinda tight right now so if I can get the performance & reliability out of these puppies I get from the MSDs I'd gladly shell out the $30!

I bought a set exactly like you describe. They failed in less than 100 miles. Complete junk. Put my old wires back on(ngks) and no problems, theyre just ugly!!

Do yourself and the future owner a favor, don't buy cheap shit.

MSD, Magnacore, what ever.
Magnacor has had a technical bulletin in place on their site since 1998. Why would you recommend these now?

Stock wires are the best bang for the buck. If you honestly do need more spark, you should be replacing the entire ignition system with a totally different kind of technology.

Dont try to be a innovator, stick with whats tried and true the NGK's will work great for a long time with no problems..

I had a number of sets of Magnacore wires fail from arcing and per their technical bulletin where they blame the arcing on a flaw in the 4g63 head I gave up on them. I then used some Accel wires for probably 4-5 years and had no more issues. Could have been luck, but I wouldn't recommend Magnacore to anyone for these reasons.
