So, you guys think someone can fix it?

oh yeah a truly good welder could fix that. The question is why would you want to? I see blocks all day long for between $100 and $200. It will cost that much to get that welded AND you will still have a weaker block than one you could buy for the same money.

so theres no way?

just checking, ive already sold the car.

so nobody looked to the "from:" on my profile? Im from Rio, if i could swim on blocks all day long i wouldnt be asking.

a block, nude, with nothing, here goes for $800

really have you ever seen someonte fix a block like this or i should throw it away? inside theres an eagle forged crankshaft...

Well I would definitely pull the Eagle forged crank and look it over before tossing the block. Then I would toss them both based on your pics. :D

That's one welder I'd like to meet. You do realize that a large part of the rear seal area, oil pan flange, and bell housing is missing... right? :)

What caused this hole exactly? LOL

And to answer your question... Yes it's "fixable", but it'll most likely break again, and then all the money you spent on fixing it will be worthless. Just get a new block.

I sure do... I also was pretty quick to point out that it wouldn't be a cheap job. I was a welder for many years, and believe me there are some truly gifted welders out there ( not me), and if one was forced to try to fix that block (especially if the missing pieces are available), it COULD be done. As I said though, he will have a weaker block. It would not be that hard to weld up and then have machined for the seal and bellhousing...

I have a friend in Africa, when you live in countries besides the land of waste, everything must be fixed, not replaced, so I understand the OP's reason for asking.

I was going off the assumption that based on that amount of destruction, those pieces are LONG gone. :)

It's also a very good bet that there are cracks and micro-fractures throughout the whole lower back half and around the rear crank journals...so I stand by my opinion that it is not repairable in any practical sense.

@ Palmetto_TSi

here in brazil the 2G are very rare cars, you hardly see one by the streets, so u cn can imagine a block ! LOL

thats why im asking.

im asking also because i showed it to a welder and he said he could fix it for $300,00

i might just sell the block to a garage that will put it to work again and polish the eagle and use it as art at my house:thumb:

As stated, buy a new one. You can get a 7bolt short block on here for dirt cheap and just have it shipped down there. It may cost you a bit in shipping but worth it compared to the $800 it costs to buy one local to you.

i agree!

that fuc*ing tuner that tuned my dsmlink.

This was the last happy day with my car...on the same day, the engine went to hell:mad:

customs, they open whatever box they want.

Yeah my friend in Congo said never mail him anything through postage, only through DSL because they have to insure it. He said if the post office in Congo thinks there is something in a box or package they want, they will take it and you will never even get the empty box. A lot of things disappear in countries like yours and his...
