I just got a 1990 tsi and i want to hook the temp sensor back up. Can i cut the 12 volt power and splice it to the temp sensor ?

I bought a slim fan for my talon when I added the FMIC. What I did is took the harness from the stock (passenger side fan) and cut them about 4 inches from the fan. Then I took the two wires on the new slim fan (happend to be the same colors) and spliced them together. Then I plugged it back in with both the sensor at the bottome of the radiator and the normal plug in.
