like the title says. I would have an inline fuse but im not sure what size. I would also have a switch hooked up. Its not my dd and I only drive it around a couple times a week.
 
i used a 15 amp switch and fuse when i did that to a buick skylark. check the gauge of your wire. if its a 12 gauge wire use 15-25 amp. if the gauge is around 20 then use a 5 amp.
 
Or you can buy an external thermostat from Advanced auto or other auto part stores and have it kick on/off according to the temperature. Wire it into a switched 12v source and its as good as factory.
