aftermarket fans, wire directly to battery?

is there any benefit to wiring aftermarket fans to the battery? i am not sure if im getting full voltage to the fans in the car, it was an informal test but i have 2 14" mishimoto fans, one wired to teh car and the other sitting on my deck. when i hooked the fan to the car charger, it blew like crazy, but the one on my car moves maybe half that air it feels like. is it possible my factory harness cant provide enough juice to the fans?

not sure but if the one on the car is up against the radiator, wouldnt that cause resistance? Try taking it off and checking it that way. Plus maybe your car charger is putting out 14 volts like mine does. (on high)

i got my fans wired directly to battery. works great, i got rid of all my factory fan wiring. i used an extra piaa relay and wired both power sides to battery with 40 amp inline fuse. grounded fan negative to frame. used switched ground side with factory thermo sensor as my ground switch to turn on fans. turns fan on and off at proper water temp.

Run the positive side to a toggle switch in cabin, off of the ACC side. Run the 12v to the switch from something like the cigarette lighter fuse. Add an inline fuse on the ACC side of the switch....30amps at least.
