I just finished a completed a full teardown and rebuild and I've run into a snag at the very end...Shifting issues...I've put in a new slave cyl. and my master is like new. I also threw in an extended slave rod and s/s clutch line, new T/O bearing. Now the clutch... Newly designed ACT street disc w/ 2100 pressure plate. currently when I have it in neutral everything is A OK now putting it into gear is a chore (grinding). I only feel pedal pressure about an 1" and a half from the floor. this may seem dumb but give me holler if any ideas.

Love,

try re-bleeding, also have you checked the clutch pressure plate torq? me and a friend had the same problem later found out the stud kit the pressure plate came with was garbage.. so we just put back in the stock bolts and it was fine.

I had a similar thing happen to me. When I wanted to get it in gear it would grind. Come to find the seal on the slave cyclinder was leaking. So put a new one on and it shifted fine for about 2 months. Then started grinding again. Looked, and the thing was leaking again. I put on the third one and havnt had any troubles out of it so far. Even with new stuff you can get bad parts so maybe its the same case for you.

do everythign pitbull said and follow teh instructions on RRE's site carefully and there shouldn't be anythign that you can't fix or diagnose from there...sounds liuke he's been there before :)

i recently had to replace my throw out arm and fulcrum ball.. my ACT2600 had actually broken teh ball off and my clutch wasbarely working at all... i relaced teh master, clave and bled the system numerous times before i found out what it was.. grab teh clutch release arm where the slave pushed on it and try and wiggle it up and down , if there's slow, your ball or arm is bad

on a side note..GET RID OF THAT EXTENDED ROD... a properly setup clutch WON'T need it and all it's going to do is cause extra travel that could basicly put more and more load on your thrust bearings, the clutch only needs to be pushed so far... IMO the ext. rod is just a band-aid for other underlying problems

RRE's clutch info link is a wealth of knowledge and if you follow what it says your clutch should work great and the tranny should shift fine as well... another thing to do on putting the car in first gear ( assuming everything else is in good working order) is to pull it into second and tehn put it in first... it lines things up a little better so that you dont' grind going into first when trying to get it in fast when teh light changes and you're not ready :)
