Sarnia,
ok first off... here is everything that has been done to my car.
2.4L, wiesco pistons,8.5 compression
MLS headgasket, ARP bolts
1000cc injectors FIC
Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator
255 Wally fuel pump
TAIL 44mm wastegate
TAIL 38mm BOV
t67 70 trim big kahuna
3" turbo back exhaust
3" GM MAF
MAFT
DSMLINK
AEM Wideband
1000 cc FIC
Comp 200 cams

I drive this car on the street and i'm tired of losing because i cant even start spooling until approx 4200 rpm. i need some turbo suggestions to match my setup with a much broader powerband... i currently run 12 psi on my setup and the car pulls like hell. I just hate how long i have to wait. any suggestions on a big turbo that spools a bit sooner? thanks.

One, expect to get flamed for street racing on this site.

Two, why are you running a fairly large turbo at only 12 psi? You're severely limiting what your car can do because you aren't turning the boost up.

I agree, 12 psi on that turbo is like 5 psi on a 14b(to get an idea) you need to get in the efficiency range for it to shine. That seems like something you would have researched during the build. And of course I would take it to a track. Killing someone while racing and going to jail for manslaughter shouldn't be your wake up call.

just to clarify
one, i'm not full out street racing just the hop off the line when a honda thinks they are something special. i'm not an idiot driver. sorry for not clarifying that.

two, the setup is relatively new i am tuning my way up higher and higher.

three : this was originally intended to be a drag racing setup, i just thought it was going to be a bit more fun on the street.

Your second point is all I needed to hear, you haven't turned the boost up on a turbo that thrives on higher boost, not to mention your not done tuning. If you already want a new turbo just get a e316g it will feel better and most likely make the same power of your current turbo at 12psi. And if your looking for that "off the line hit" then you need to look at setting up a 2-step/anti-lag

I suggest the driver mod. You should go to a track and learn how to launch your car. When taking off the line in an awd turbo car their are two things that can happen. 1, you pull out like your mom from a redlight. 2, you leave the line like john force. Also, like everyone else mentioned you need to run higher boost to justify using such a big turbo. A large frame turbo at anything less than 20 psi is a waste. All of the lag, none of the power. If you turned the boost up to 25 psi, and learned how to keep the rms of your engine above the range your turbo spools at, you will destroy any honda.

What size clutch do you have on that monster and does the car have a fmic? If your running a front mount then i would say for sure you can be pulling at 20-25 psi daily without a worry.

vrooom psssst

Well, you're cams are less than what I'd typically suggest with this turbo choice. Your turbo choice suggests a goal of +650whp. And lag isn't an issue with such a goal. Either twinscroll is used or higher rpms are used, for which you don't have the cams/manifold combination. You don't have enough injector to merrit this turbo either.

As mentioned, I suggest turning up the boost. If you're still not happy, then an hx40 will be my suggestion. It flows the same as that turbo and reaches FULL boost by the time that one starts spooling.
