Had this issue for a while now and wondered if I could get some opinions on it. My shifter has a good 2" of play/slop of front-back on it which is really frustrating. Have replaced the bushes with the Cusco shift linkage kit but that didn't do anything for this sort of play. Is there any way I can tighten up the shifter on the gear linkage cables so that I don't get as much play?

If the shifter cables are anything like on the 1g, then they are adjustable. I'd try that first if you have adjustable shifter cables.

Checked out my gearstick today and it seems to be missing more bush than Annette Schwarz! I'm just missing that cup bush and a couple of others too. Will be ordering them tomorrow and looking forward to things stiffening up, so to speak.
