Best would be to contact shep with the serial # on the trans... My question is who wouldn't keep a receipt for a high dollar item like this. Thats like trying to sell a built short block with no receipt for it.

I would wonder why there is junk yard paint marker on it. Also my trans is stamped right by the rubber breather vent. Just above where the axels goes in. And yeah, they can tell you everything about it by that code if it is legit.

yea I'd be worried about all the markings on it, looks junkyard. Have some doubts of a shep tranny making it that far in the junkyard process. Probably a ordinary tranny he pulled and didn't need. How much is he asking?

Ya looks junk to me, sheps trannys are clean as shit. That thing is nasty.

Well I wouldn't say its not a shep cause its dirty. I have a fully built trans from Dogbox that looks like crap now because my car sat outside in the elements for 9 months while I was deployed. Don't mean its crap tho does it?

Yea, my shep stage 4 is not that clean . There should be stamped numbers on the flat spot just below the top 2 mounting bolts (the ones that go into the block) with that number you should be able to call or email them and verify.

Yep that's a where my stage 3 is stamped

Open it up and check. I've seen brand new looking cases with trans company stamps on them, with old used internals. It's like trying to tell if an engine has forged internals by looking at the outside of the valve cover, and oil pan.
