shep stage 2 or t.r.e. stage 2 transmission

ok i need some input on these 2 transmissions. either the shep stage 2 or t.r.e stage 2. Mind you this is for fwd trans. any info of personal experience with either would really help.

and absolutly love it. I can downshift into first at 20mph with out a problem.

Look into www.jackstransmissions.com. You will get a lot more for your money. His stage two tranny has a 4 spider gear center diff and most the other companys charge extra for this part and its the most important.

Nope sorry for Jacks when you add the same stuff to it they come out to the same price. Jacks doesnt give you the new gears you got to add them to the deal. Shep an TRE do give you the gears an have the 4-Spider as the add. But I would go with TRE Stage 3 get all new EVO III Gears.

Damn man i have said the same thing before. But, when it comes down to it when no one else knows the answer to your question, chances are a wiseman or moderator will be the one to answer your question. Besides the fact that if you get mouthy to someone about a real infraction to the rules, then you throw yourself out to a possible suspension. IF you searched and didn't find what you wanted just say in your post, "Hey i searched, but didn't find what i was looking for". AS for the tranny i would go with the shep, i have heard some horror stories about TRE.

honnestly i would go with shep. my friends builds trannies here in ct and in about a year or 2 times hes seen tre trannies come back to him because the shift forks wear out the evo3 forks wear out sheps dont.

You should not talk to a wiseman like that, or anybody who is trying to help you. This isn't "your post", this isn't "your board." Your the one asking for free help, and you received good help. Posting links to searches is perfectly find, making a post just saying to search is not.

i know what you mean man, sometimes you got to bite your tongue. I have learned with cars price isn't something that should determine what you get. Rather have a solid Shep tranny and use it forever Then have to buy a TRE tranny, blow it to pieces, then go and buy a Shep tranny. TRE and Shep are both reputible brands though i guess just go with your preference. Your going to find supporters of both. i know that TRE comes with a few more features like a taller 5th gear( i believe) for cheaper.

I just do not search this forum up and down so ill learn even if that means getting suspended. As you can see i do not do lots of posts but i think their is a better way to talk to someone for the wisemans future lecturing, also thanks for the help.

I deal with TRE quite a bit. They co sponsor the EVO IXs that we run in SCCA and he is nothing short of amazing! This guy over analyzes and over does everything too! He puts together amazing gear boxes for us and we couldn't be happier.

thank you. i have been researching all night and they all sound good. even came across one from jacktransmissions. all though i didnt not hear anything bad about shep trans but i did with tre trans. only a couple things though. It seems that the evo3 forks are weak and the shep ones are alot tougher.

its not that the evo3 are weak because they usually dont break. theres like pads on them and they wear out. the shep ones dont

Thank you for editing your post. There is a wealth of information on this site and you can literally search for hours or days. I wasn't lecturing you, but you were asking a question that has got threads locked before. The mods on this site aren't lenient to people who don't search before they post - I was just giving you a heads up. I'm sure that you'd rather be politely asked to search before you post instead of getting your threads locked as a new member and possibly be suspended or banned in the future.

It comes down to personal preference and who you want to support, I like TRE. They are both top notch companies with years of experience in the DSM world and high quality products. Call both Shep and TRE and talk to John (yes, they are both John) and see which one appeals to you more.

New gears are not needed and thats why you save money. You get all you need plus the 4 spider gear diff. He also will price beat anyone so if you talk with him he will give you a better deal than anyone.
