sensor on top of compressor

I was pulling my head off my car and noticed this sensor is broken. It runs inline with the ignition coil plug. What is this called ?

It looks like your cam sensor. Hard to tell the pic is really small on my computer. Only reason I'm saying that is your cars a 95 and its sensor is on the intake cam gear. Try to get a closeup of the sensor itself maybe I'll be able to tell then for sure.

Well we can completely rule out the cam angle sensor, because it's mounted in the head, therefore, it wouldn't be in a pic of a short block.

Yep I finally got it to pull it up in the big window. NOT cam sensor. Cam sensor is attached to the head with 2 bolts on the sensor and one to hold the wire out of the way and a grommet thru the timing cover.

Try and get a better picture. Maybe next time use macro mode on your camera (look for the little flower icon) if you're going to put the camera close. If not, move it back about 3 feet and try again.

It goes on top of the a/c compressor (to the left in first pic) but I don't know what purpose it serves.
