I can trade my e316g for a scm61. I have a mostly stock motor and i wounder how the long the spool would be with this turbo. I run e85 on my 16g so it pulls hard would it be worth it to upgrade scm61 without cams.

Unless you're going to use it to its full potential I'd just stick with the 16g.

Aren't you the least bit curious why the person wants to trade down in turbo size?

I'd stick with the 16G as well. Unless you can put 60+ lb/min of airflow to good use, the only thing you're going to gain is lag.

well yea i origionaly was going to trade and get the scm61 and trade that for a 5031re but the guy backed out. So now i'm stuck with the evo3 again. Its no big deal I just wanted to get into the 11's which i think i can with this turbo.

You should be able to run 11's with the Evo3 and supporting mods.

I personally don't think a 60-1 is a good choice for a mostly stock motor. It's power range is 5k+ rpms and without cams or the capability to rev safely past redline you are just going to lag.

A scm61 is NOT 60-1.
The scm61 is almost the same as a gt3561. No what do you think?

I think those numbers are all gibberish and I don't know anything that's not 5031E. Either way I still think the same thing.

yea i'm sticking with the e316g and just pick up some cams I think i can get mid 11's. I trapped 115 with a blown hg so i know the car has at least 3mph left in it.

Should have traded. You could have sold the sc61 for what 600 and then bought another used evo3 16g for 400 put the other 200 to decent boost control to push the 16g to it's limit. Yours was used anyway. Lesson learned

Joking aside, have fun with your car. I hope you get to the 11nties with it. It DEFINATELY doable with what you have. Seat time is all you need right now.
