Hi,
When running 1/4 mile, (9.64 and auto) there is coming alot of oil from the valve cover filling my catch can. No problems running 1/8 mile. I would love to have a Magnus dry sump kit, but it is very expensive and need an external oil can, which I wont have in my engine bay...
Have been thinking of buying a dry sump/mechanical scavenge pump and make 2 holes in the lower rear of the head to suck out the oil and pump it back into the sump where it belongs. Anyone tried this idea?
Btw I also have an underdrive oil pump pulley which I havent mounted yet, which also should help reducing the oil to the head.
Anyone have any suggestions what to try?
Will an electrical scavenge pump work?
Thanks

Evacuating the blow by before it can make its way up to the head seems logical. People have tapped the balance shaft area and in the drain back between head and block. Not saying the pump is a bad idea but every small pump I’ve ever used is hard to keep primed.

I dont have picture right here, but outlet is at the very top of the valve cover towards the gearbox side. Stock baffles inside. using a swirl pot/catch can from a Porsche with the breather outlet to a 1,5 qt bottle.

You could get one of the GZ Motorsports vacuum pumps, plumbed to the head and balance shaft hump.

A dry sump is still better, and you don't have to have the oil reservoir in the engine bay, it can be wherever in the car you want, just have to run lines for it. I'm finding with a diy system, for a rwd but will work with transverse as well. Pumps can be had in good shape for a few hundred bux and making/piecing together the rest isn't terribly difficult. Hardest parts are the front cover, then price of lines/fittings depending on what you use. I'll have about 1k into mine all said and done, but I do understand not wanting to spend 5k on the premade dry sump, and if you don't want to do that much fab.
